Practice and doctors are fine. But the Athena connection for the online portal and online payment is horrible. They sent two emails with links to pay. One took me to a dead page with error message. The second allowed me to enter my info, but then repeatedly said there was an error with my card details (there was not) and to use a different card or try later. I waited 24 hours. Same thing. Tried a different card. Same thing. Tried with a different device. Same thing. Tried logging into my Patient Portal. "Your account does not have access to medical records." Seriously? What the heck. I owe you money, I'm trying to give you money, its 2026 and Athena doesnt have a working payment portal? And/or it cant give me a clearer reason as to why its not working? Ended up having to call the provider and paying over the phone. The TMP lady was super friendly and helpful. So Tryon Medical Partners is Great. The Athena corporate parent/payment processing/whatever they do part sucks.

I saw Dr. Brantley. The first initial consult was amazing and what sets this practice apart from all the others in my experience. He came in prepared. His nurse was amazing. The front staff was incredibly helpful.

He spent quite a bit of time with me, understanding my history, the current state, and I fully trust his recommendations and next steps.

I’m very glad to have found Dr. Brantley and just like my current primary care physician Dr. Busse, Tryon Medical Partners is top in their field.

I’m going to look for a new primary. I used to really like it here but they’ve fallen into the typical medical nonsense. Several issues:
1. Shady billing - docs order unnecessary blood tests without telling you so they can upgrade your physical to 2 appointment charges and bill double
2. Lack of punctuality. Doc was 40 min late and only cared about being late for own lunch break. Rushed appt.
3. Mistakes. Failed to order required annual cancer screening test. Marked it as completed instead of submitting order

I was new to Charlotte in November 2024. Scheduled a visit with a new primary; liked her very very much!! However, I had to change to a Novant provider because Tryon Medical Partners has elected to not have EPIC…this is a HUGE disservice to new patients…impossible to get records from previous carriers in a timely manner. Tryon, if you wanna play with the big boys , then bite the bullet and get the EPIC medical records system. I can’t go back and would not recommend them regardless of their skills as physicians..access to medical records is imperative these days with pre authorizations, etc. Do better, Tryon!!

Tryon Medical came highly recommended and they did not fall short. Having worked over 20 years in the medical field, you develop an eye and an ear for professionalism. As a patient who have had great doctors who take time with you and your health, you know what you are looking for to meet your health needs.
From the front desk the young lady who checked me in was simply amazing and very warm and welcoming. I saw Dr.Corrine she and her Medical Assistance was and is everything I am looking for. I can't wait to tell my former doctor in Michigan that I found a great doctor here in Charlotte!
The portal was easy to set up and user friendly.
