We walked in here on a Friday night when lots of other restaurants in the area were full. We managed to grab the last table! As out-of-towners, we’re so happy we went here for our first meal in Toronto. It was the best welcome to the city!

Our server was incredible. Despite the place being busy, she accommodated us and was so kind and gave us her recs. We got a beer, coconut shrimp, croquettes, guava bbq plates, Cubano sandwich and pork belly plate. Oh my god!!! What can I say!!! I’ve never had pork belly melt in my mouth like that before. The guava short rib was so tender and delicious. All plates come with rice, beans, tostones and slaw. All so delicious!

I wish we stayed for the speakeasy bar, but we were stuffed! We even wanted to come back later for take out to bring back home with us!

After enjoying Cuban cuisine and a mojito all by myself in a cozy and charming restaurant, a feeling of nostalgia ❤️🇨🇺 suddenly welled up inside me. . The server was attentive and created a comfortable dining space and atmosphere. Definitely wanna visit again🤩

We stumbled upon this spot and were so pleasantly surprised. Everything was absolutely delicious! We had the fish sandwich special and the beef short rib, both were packed with flavour and cooked perfectly. Honestly, no complaints at all. The service was great, she was so friendly. Such a great find and we’ll definitely be back!

Came here for a walk-in lunch on a Friday and was very happy with the decision. The setting is bright and well decorated with great music. The service was lovely. I was pleased to find vegetarian options. We got the bean soup, conch fritters, glazed squid, beef sandwich, and brioche with guava jam. The in house hot sauce was very good.

came here for dinner and it was a super nice and cozy spot with a nice chill ambiance !!! service was also so patient and kind 🙂

the pork belly medianoche had many thick slabs of salty, savoury meat, and i loved the bites with the crispy skin and juicy fat. the pork was necessarily dRY, but it did feel a bit overly lean/tough in some parts — not the most tender or moist pork belly i’ve had. the slaw was crunchy and added a really unique sweetness, and the juices were dripping everywhere and absolutely DRENCHED the entire sandwich — the bottom bun got all soaked and soggy. i also really liked the slightly sweet potato bun.

i really recommend the conch fritters because they were super yummy and unique and i’ve never had anything like it!! they were hot, fresh, and the inside was really dense and doughy, and it tasted really good with that tangy mayo/aioli-like sauce.

the donuts were fresh, with a slight crunchy outside sprinkled with cinnamon sugar ALLLLL over. the fried oiliness was balanced really well by the sweet, milky cream and rich, caramel-y dulce de leche syrup that it was served with.

the mango colada was sugary and a bit creamy, but honestly it was mostly ice and i wouldn’t say it was worth $7.

Got it delivered through Uber.
I got the rib sandwich with jalapeños
And the Cuban sandwich (I added ketchup on my own). Omg both sandwiches tasted great! They are very generous with the meat portion in both sandwiches. Definitely would order again! AMAZING

I came to La Cubana hoping to try the Cuban fish sandwich, but it wasn’t available so I went for the Chicken Medianoche and the Shortrib Medianoche instead. Both were really good. The chicken had avocado, tomato, and chipotle mayo, super juicy and full of flavor. The shortrib was sweet and tangy with guava BBQ and pickled onions. The bun was so soft and buttery. Portion size is good and the price feels fair. Overall, a cozy spot with great flavors and friendly vibes.

I ordered the vegetarian plate and was really happy with my choice. The meal felt complete, balanced, and fresh, which made it such a pleasant experience as a customer. Every element on the plate complemented the others nicely, and you could tell the ingredients were handled with care. I added a touch of lime juice and a sprinkle of salt, and that little extra brightness made me enjoy it even more.
I also tried the guava margarita, which was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The overall atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it easy to sit back and enjoy the food. The prices were on the higher side, but the quality and presentation made it feel worth it.

My partner and I were visiting Toronto for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We were walking around our first night in the Dundas district looking for a place to eat. We turned on Ossington and found La Cubana.

I loved that they had a small menu with great drinks and cocktails. They even had a Hemingway Daiquiri cocktail.

The service was fast and unintrusive. The prices were affordable and the food arrived quickly and still hot.

I definitely want to return to try their cocktails.

I remember La Cubana from many many years ago, and I remember loving it. However this time back, it didn’t deliver the same feeling.

The Cubano was ok, quite greasy and I couldn’t eat a lot of it.
Not sure there’s anything else on the menu that will make me a returning customer unfortunately.

A cute vintage diner-esque restaurant downtown. The outside patio seating is incredibly nice during the fall and summer.

We got the Short-rib BBQ and Chicken sandwiches and they were quite filling (though the chicken sandwich is nothing too special compared to a regular chicken burger).

Came in for happy hour. Meal was really good but staff was hustling! Even though they were grinding out orders the two servers were super nice and attentive as much as they could be.

My friend Bruce and I decided to check out OssFest for the first time this year. It runs every year on Ossington Avenue, from Dundas Street to Queen Street. The weather was sunny, hot, and humid — perfect festival weather!

We took transit and started at the north end. It was already very busy, with lots of patios, restaurants, and a young, energetic crowd. Many places had tables set up right on the street and were selling beer and cocktails outside — they must have had special permits for the day.

Bruce and I wanted a bite to eat but preferred to sit inside rather than out on the street. We settled on La Cubana — luckily there was no line, but only one table left! The restaurant is small, with little tables along the wall and a couple of cozy booths for two on the other side.

We both ordered the chorizo burger — my first time trying one, and it was absolutely delicious. I paired mine with a cold Cuban beer, while Bruce had a juice and added a side of red cabbage. Everything was so tasty. For dessert, we shared a key lime pie (one of my favourites) and some donuts with a butterscotch cream — a perfect sweet ending.

The service was friendly and welcoming, and both bartenders were lovely — they looked Latino and added to the warm vibe of the place.

All in all, I really enjoyed my first OssFest and my meal at La Cubana — I’ll definitely be back!

We found La Cubana by chance while looking for a quick bite, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. We shared the ham and cheese croquettes and yuca frita as starters – both were delicious. For mains, we had the pressed Cubano sandwich, pulled pork medianoche, and the Guava BBQ beef short rib plate. Everything was flavourful and well-prepared.

The place has a nice 1950s Cuban vibe with traditional Cuban music playing in the background, making the experience feel authentic. The classic sides like tostones and congrís rice were the perfect complement to our meals.

The service was quick and attentive. I highly recommend La Cubana if you’re looking for a true Cuban experience in Toronto.

Had a great time here , the atmosphere is nice as well as the music the only downfall was when the phone rings it goes through the whole sound system and promoting happy hour with no beer and then the beer just arrive 6pm felt suspicious but it’s whatever. The food was delicious and I will definitely go back. The TOSTONES and I enjoyed their Cuban Mango Habanero Hot sauce.

Finally visited this small, atmospheric Cuban place at Ossington and oh boy I wish I did it sooner. Best Cuban sandwich I had (and yes I tired them in Miami). Great food, great service good prices. Highly recommend for quick bites and drinks!

Loved our visit to La Cubana! We tried the roast beef sandwich, pressed ham sandwich, and the beef burger. The first two were absolutely delicious, packed with flavor and perfectly made. The burger was decent, but the sandwiches really stood out. The black bean soup was a highlight! so hearty and flavorful. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the whole experience even better.

Absolutely worth the wait!
The restaurant was quite busy and we had to wait in line, but it was totally worth it. The food was absolutely delicious, high quality, and reasonably priced. The waitress was very friendly and attentive—even though she was working alone and it was hectic, she managed everything so well. Our food came a bit late, but she kindly brought us complimentary drinks as an apology when we were leaving.
I really enjoyed the food and the cozy decor. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Half of the menu was not available, disappointing to be honest. Our order was tasty.
Not cuban people working there. The place looks a little dirty, glasses were changed twice, these were not clean. Waitress provided a good service.

WOW, saw La Cubana on the Food Network so we made the trip into Toronto on Sunday and we were not disappointed! Such a cool, authentic, old school Cuban dinner vibe, music, great cocktails and the food was AMAZING! The CUBAN MEDIANOCHE, Corn Frituras and Grilled Fish Sandwich were off the hook good! Great service too!
