I’ve been to two other egg waffle shops before, but I keep coming back to this one. The egg waffles always have generous fillings, the staff are super friendly, and they have such unique selection of flavors. My favorite is still the orange chocolate, so good every time! Definitely my go-to spot.

This one tastes like HK egg waffles. The thin sides are crispy and the egg parts are soft. Full of chocolate. No egg without chocolate filling.

You usually find egg waffles where the batter is already flavored, but here they keep the classic batter and pack each bubble with fillings. We tried the salted egg and the durian and immediately regretted not ordering two of each. Every bite hits you with a burst of flavor. The salted egg was rich, creamy, and full of savory depth. The durian was beautifully fragrant with a custardy texture that honestly felt like they put in a scoop of the real fruit inside. These are dangerously addictive!

This egg waffle place is very popular! I went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a short line up. The line moved quickly and when it was my turn, I placed my order for one durian egg waffle and one original egg waffle. I also chose to pay an extra $3.99 and ordered the mango pomelo sago drink (only available as an add-on).

I probably waited between 6-8 minutes for my order. They call out your order number when it's ready for pick up. We went to the food court to find a seat (there is no seating here, counter only to order your HK style egg waffles for takeaway), and I got into the durian one right away. It was so crispy on the outside and once bitten into, the gooey durian filling was heavenly.

The original is just as delicious & the mango pomelo sago drink is probably the best I've had.

There are instructions on the bag for reheating. I did follow it the next day since I didn't finish everything...1-2 minutes at 325 Fahrenheit. I found that it took longer for me but that's fine. It's not hard to figure out.

My eternal love, my one and only, the king of fruits, once again finds its way incorporated into a delightful HK-style egg waffle, and one bite instantly had me hooked. First is the thin and crisp layer on the golden exterior, releasing a cascade of a gooey durian filling that's wonderfully sweet and a mildly pungent durian aroma, making it suitable for durian lovers like me and novices alike.

The purple yam is tasty and worth ordering. Conveniently located near entrance E, no need to walk far.
Friendly staff and quick to order and serve. Nice warm desert to enjoy anytime of the day!

Absolutely love their egg waffles! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and a flavourful hint of egg taste. Definitely still one of the best and most affordable place to get egg waffles in the area without going all the way to Pacific Mall or Chinatown. Conveniently located near the south entrance of First Markham Place. I always get the original egg waffle and it costs only $3.80. You can add a drink for $4 and they have a selection of egg waffle flavours and drinks. Great place!

We swung by First Markham Place and tried the HK style egg waffles from Eggette Hut! I knew this place was new when I passed by it in January of this year and at that time the hype hadn’t hit the Instagram feeds yet.

For a Sunday afternoon, they were very busy and it took 10 minutes to wait for our egglette to be ready.

Eggette Hut is an exclusive HK style waffle house with a few drinks on their menu to serve up a la carte or as a combo.

They have flavours like matcha, banana, strawberry, durian, orange chocolate, and cheese!!

Of course I wanted the cheese one. 😀

Upon tasting it, the egg waffle was perfectly crispy on the edges and well done. I had been watching the girls make the waffles and ours came out nice and orange from the cheddar cheese. However, it turned out they used cream cheese in each of the bubbles…. I would have preferred a real cheese like cheddar or mozzarella for a more gooey consistency. Cream cheese is like a fatty fast convenience cheese. It was creamy all right, but lacked a real cheesy flavour.

This cost a flat $6 after tax. These are definitely premium egg waffles! (Their original flavour costs $4.) (For that price, you can get a full rice and meat meal at the food court...)

A new Hong Kong egg waffle shop ( aka Gai Daan Jai eggette ) recently open up shop at FMP ( First Markham Place, Markham ) replacing one of the many bubble tea shops. It is located near one of the side entrance (on the south side), next to a Singaporean Pork Jerky place.

The place is called 'Eggette Hut' and whilst waiting for my ' Dark Chocolate and Orange ' option, I got a chance to talk to the owner. Apparently his father is the owner of a 30 year history, Honk Kong icon. At the Hong Kong flagship location, a 40 minutes wait/line-up is not uncommon!

Overall, the smell and texture were amazingly good. The outer texture of the piping hot waffle was crispy followed by a soft chewy center. The small, slightly bitter chunk of orange peel interacted beautifully with the molten chocolate filling! Some might find the end product a bit too sweet. However, to me, as a ' dessert ' snack, they were perfect!

One word of advise. Do try eating them whilst piping hot and crispy. The aroma, taste and texture is super addictive!
