The Friendly Toast in Harvard Square has real potential. The staff was genuinely kind and welcoming, and the food itself was quite good. Unfortunately, we had a very long wait, and when our meals finally arrived, they were cold.
That was particularly disappointing because the food would have been very enjoyable if served at the right temperature. It felt less like a problem with the kitchen or the staff and more like an issue with organization and management. I hope they can improve the coordination, because the place has a lot going for it.

We visited in a weekday- it was busy however there was no wait. The ambience is very eclectic, very Boston! Our server was very friendly, efficient, and prompt! The food was delicious! Breakfast burritos and blueberry pancakes drizzled with yummy maple syrup in an individual miniature bottle that seemed to be a shame to throw away so I saved it for future recycling as a bud vase!

I’ve visited The Friendly Toast multiple times, and it’s always a solid spot for breakfast. The food is consistently good, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
The place is clean, and the decor is really fun and unique—you’ll always find something new to look at on the walls each visit.
It does get very busy, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a packed atmosphere. The only downside for me is parking, but that’s expected for this part of the city.
Overall, it’s a go-to spot when I’m in the area for breakfast, and I’ll definitely keep coming back.

Amazing diner! I ordered the Rice Rice Baby bowl, the chicken and waffles, and a single pancake. Everything was so delicious! The pancake and waffle were fresh, and the bowl and chicken were very flavorful. The décor is super fun, perfect for college students. I highly recommend!

Amazing spot! We are from Miami visiting Boston, we were impressed by the food here!!!
Prices are no spicy and the portions are realistic big. They have very good flights, interesting if you want to try diversity. Service 10/10.
