The place has a vibe of an old bar and that makes it very interesting. The music was good and with a perfect sound to be able to talk with my friends. When we ordered the food, the waiter Jhoger served us very well and always with a smile. I hope to return soon and be attended to by him.

We worked with Roofer’s to host an after party for our wedding in their first floor bar. It was very simple to get a quote and details together to book the space. When we arrived all staff from bar to security were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this venue for a good value private booking option in Adams Morgan.

Such an amazing experience. Jacob was our server and he truly made our entire night. Customer service is wonderful and we will be back for another Lobster Tuesday!

We had an amazing Mother’s Day brunch here. The buffet had an amazing array of food - traditional, breakfast and brunch items, eggs, bacon, sausage, rolls, and croissants, but also ceviche and shrimp rolls and paella, and a carving station and a charcuterie board. The food was excellent, the most mimosas kept coming, and the servers were all lovely! We didn’t try the specialty cocktails given the mimosas, but did sample several desserts which were also great! We will definitely be back! (Soon!! ; )

I was so impressed with the Mothers Day brunch… a huge array of food items, all delicious. Not only breakfast items, but at least half dozen main courses, plus shrimp and oysters and ceviche. They also had two salads, a huge charcuterie board and a carving station. The mimosas were free-flowing and the dessert cart was overwhelming. The vibe was good and the servers very pleasant and friendly! We will definitely be back soon!

So happy to have gone here with all the rave reviews! But honestly disappointed.... Now I know I got there as they opened but that the time we reserved since my family had a flight to catch! But I was so friendly and happy to be there. No one seemed happy to receive me other than the bartender. Please let me start with I went in with a positive attitude and a pure joy of going to a new place! But honestly... The service was so meh. The server not even happy to be serving but he was kind and nice. The food came out cold ... I ordered a steak and egg and man... Cold. They served coffee not even to the middle of the mug. It just felt disheartening with the rave reviews and got such a ok experience. I really love the place and the location but maybe I just went at a bad brunch time... I'm not sure but I hope someone realizes that as their first customer of the day we should some fun and friendliness!

The food is great! The backround music was to loud and made it hard to have a decent conversation without having to talk loud and lean in close to hear. The atmosphere is sparse and nothing special. Not sure if we'll eat here again because there are so many other restaurants on the same street with great food. It was a good experience but nothing to write home about.

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my 30th birthday and had mixed experiences that I feel management should be aware of.

The cocktail hour on the first floor was genuinely great. The bartender was fun, engaging, and very accommodating, and our group had a wonderful start to the evening. That part of the experience set a high expectation for the rest of the night.

After the cocktail hour, we moved upstairs for dinner, and unfortunately this is where the experience changed. I understand that I did not book the restaurant as a private event and that sharing space with other guests is normal, and I had no issue with that in principle. However, I was not informed in advance that a large baby shower would be taking place at the same time, occupying roughly two thirds of the space. There was no ambient music, and our group was placed tightly into a corner, which made the evening feel awkward and uncomfortable, as if we were taking a small piece out of someone else’s private celebration. The other party themselves were perfectly pleasant, but the lack of communication from the restaurant made this situation difficult.

On top of that, our waiter was dismissive and unpleasant, barely speaking to us and making us feel unwelcome. For a milestone birthday, that was especially disappointing. After about an hour, our group made the decision not to order main courses. Some people had appetizers and drinks, but because we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, we chose to leave and continue the evening elsewhere.

I want to emphasize that this feedback is not about sharing space or the other event itself. It is about communication and hospitality. Had I been told in advance about the setup, the lack of music, or the seating situation, I could have made an informed decision.

I am grateful for the excellent bartender who gave us such a great start to the evening, but overall the experience fell short and dampened what should have been a special celebration. I hope management takes this feedback seriously so future guests celebrating important occasions feel welcomed and properly informed.

Very nice rooftop bar. Great views. Not too busy during the week

Our group of 8 had a great time at Roofers Union. Despite our large party, we were able to get seated fairly quickly. The rooftop was closed for renovations but was expected to open the following week. Even so, the dining area has huge windows overlooking Adams Morgan which sets a nice atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and provided quick service as well as good vibes. I had the fish and chips which were delicious and the all day happy hour was a nice surprise. Overall, good vibes, great food and friendly staff make this a place I would happily return.

Had some friends visiting from out of town and they were staying in Adams Morgan so when we were asked where to meet up for lunch Roofers was the first that came to mind. Have been here a few times since they reopened under new ownership but always just sat outdoors in front so this was the first time we checked out the updated dining room on the second floor. The space looks to be the same size and even layout but with a nicer looking bar, new wall art and a lot of solid larger rectangular tables good for groups. Spacing is still very good - the tables are all a good size with plenty of elbow room. Only thing is it seems to be much noisier, with sound bouncing off the walls especially when the music volume is high and there are loud groups. It wasn't too busy when we were there but with just 2-3 tables of 6 including our own it was pretty difficult to hear anyone not sitting right next to you. For that matter I'd have preferred to be on the rooftop (alas for got to take a look this time) but probably best when it's cooler. Food - brunch items as it was a weekend - is as usual, well prepared, reliable and filling. Midrange prices comparable to area restaurants. We all had entrees, sides and drinks and it came to around $30/pp before tip. Despite the noise issue I like the updated space - definitely worth repeated visits.

We had our wedding reception at Roofers Union in October, and it was absolutely perfect. The space was stylish, comfortable, and had the exact vibe we were going for — fun, a little eclectic, and still really polished.
Mark Namdar and his team were amazing throughout the whole process. Mark was super responsive, helpful with planning, and made sure every detail came together smoothly. On the day of, the staff was fantastic — professional, friendly, and totally on it, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
The food and drinks were a huge hit with our guests, and everything flowed exactly how we hoped. We’re so grateful to the team at Roofers Union for making our reception such a fun, memorable night.

Really great vibes and food. Playlist was 🔥. We’re visiting from Arizona (though I used to live in this area but hadn’t been to this restaurant), and this place was actually recommended by ChatGPT! Great recommendation overall, for a teenager and parents. Our food was great, and the service while a bit slow was also very good. Would recommend to anyone visiting Adams Morgan.

This place is phenomenal! Loved the rooftop views and the drinks were really great. I came on a Thursday night with a friend and we hadn't visited before. The espresso martini was really good. We enjoyed some free comedy on the second floor which was an awesome surprise. The service was good and it had a really chill vibe. I think I'll host my wife's birthday celebration here. I only wish happy hour prices were early in the afternoon which is when I plan on having her party.

What a fun place in neighborhood that has a great playful vibe. The food and drinks were delicious. The fish and chips were so good I forgot to take photos.

We got drinks on the rooftop and dinner in the dining hall one floor down. The roof would be SO much better if uncovered… the view from the dinner floor was beautiful - I love the huge windows. The vibe and atmosphere is AMAZING! The service was veryyyyy slow and the food/drinks were good but not amazing - but will 100% be back! The happy hour was solid!

Rather than waiting and hour and a half across the street, we waited 20 minutes for this establishment to open for the day. They easily accommodated our group of 8 as well as other larger groups. Service was fine throughout our meal. Omelets were not an issue for the cookstaff, even though omelets were not on the menu. Everything was tasty and we didn't feel rushed at all.

Good bar with reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. Very standard, nothing too special but you can't really go wrong here

I went there recently with co-workers and it was a nice place to wind down from a busy day. We had drinks and ordered small plates for a light dinner. The service was pretty decent and quick. I enjoyed it.
We went around 6:15p and by the time our entrees came out, the rooftop was packed.

Great stop in Adams Morgan for a rooftop bar and appetizers. Bartender was solid and the covered third floor patio was great for people watching below.
