The sandwich itself was decent, but nothing extraordinary. There are definitely better options available, and I don't think it's worth the price. The ingredients were fresh, but the sandwich was very ordinary.

The staff were friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. However, there was nowhere comfortable to sit. There were only a couple of broken benches that weren't really usable. For the price they charge for such a simple sandwich, I think customers should at least have access to a few proper seats, unless you have a car and don't care about having somewhere to sit.

Overall, it was not quite the experience I expected, and I wouldn't return.

Very mid food. The sandwich is definitely overpriced for what it is. I expected more flavour and robustness out of it but it tastes like an average deli sandwich. Was it good? It was a 5/10. Would I get it again? No.

I find there’s plenty other options in the area that are better worth the money.

Service was great though and the atmosphere was nice. To be clear the food was good but it fell short. I expected so much more from it. This is a place I’d go if I was in a pinch and wanted just a quick mid lunch.

Came in a cute pizza box like box though!

I have walked past this place countless times, it's always packed and logic would say that it will be "good" based on the argument of ad populum.
So I decided to let fallacy get the better of me and try it out, while fully aware of the high cost of everything. I cheaped out slightly be not getting any chips or drinks which still comes to $30 for the famous "Mona Lisa".
Did the sandwich leave up to the beauty of what it was named after? Yes! From the beautiful fresh baked flat bread, the vibrant tomatoes, pesto green sauce, white burrito and red prosciutto. It was a masterpiece and very delicious albeit leaning towards a bit too salty.
It is $30 worth? That's where I had to drop one star for the food, if this was $20 I would definitely give it a 5 star.
I'm sure their cost of goods is high since all the ingredients are super fresh, and the rent and salary ain't cheap so I do somewhat get the pricing.

The service was fast, even with the 10 people waiting in line.
The interior is also well done with rustic Italian vibes, but no seating indoors and half the benches outside are practically falling apart.

Stopped by Alfie’s and tried the Prosciutto Royale and the Chicken Caesar sandwich, and both were excellent. The ingredients tasted fresh, the bread was perfectly toasted, and everything was well balanced without being overloaded. The Prosciutto Royale had great flavor, while the Chicken Caesar was creamy, satisfying, and made with tender chicken. The portions were good, and you can tell they put care into making each sandwich. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when I’m craving a quality sandwich. I highly recommend it

Sooooo Good! Has halal beef and chicken options as well as vegan options. We had the roast beef and one the chicken options. Beautiful place...sourdough bun/flatbread, in house sauces and freshest ingredients. A must go. Not a lot of seating - some single benches outside and stand up counter style inside. Was busy as it was at noon but we didn't wait too long.

The Chicken Milano was incredible! Super fresh, full of flavor, and every bite had all the ingredients you expect from the menu. Rhyanne was amazing😍so patient, friendly, and helpful with explaining everything and recommending this sandwich. The gentleman working there was also very kind and welcoming.

Delicious food and great service. I’ll definitely be back!

Her Flavour Fix

Alfie's is one of those spots that proves great ingredients (imported from Italy) can do most of the work. We tried the Monalisa, which comes with 24-month Prosciutto di Parma, truffle cream, burrata, lemon basil pesto, pistachios, and arugula. We swapped the arugula for lettuce and added salami. The combination felt rich and indulgent, but still balanced. The burrata and delicious truffle cream made it incredibly creamy, while the pesto and lettuce kept it from feeling too heavy and added freshness.

Our biggest recommendation would be adding salami. The sandwich is already good on its own, but the extra protein makes it feel more complete and satisfying.

The quality of the ingredients really stands out here, and you can tell they're focused on sourcing great products. If you're a sandwich person, here's our slightly ridiculous tip: bring a little fig jam. Adding a bit to each bite with the prosciutto and burrata creates an amazing sweet-and-salty combination.

The space itself is very small with limited outside seating on benches so we wouldn't necessarily come here expecting a sit-down lunch experience. It's much better suited for takeout, but honestly, the sandwich is best enjoyed fresh.

This is a very popular sandwich shop in downtown. Finally go and tried this, and that’s really worth to wait. We ordered online for pickup in advance at 11:50 am and still had to wait 50 minutes upon arrival. We ordered the signature sandwiches Monalisa 🤨 and finally understood the long queue. The price is a bit high $27, but the portion is generous, sufficient for 2 persons to share with. The meat is generous, I love watching them put the meat bundle to the sandwich. The breads are homemade, and the texture are perfect, with rich layers of sauces.

I recently tried the Chicken Milano Sandwich, and it was easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The combination of lemon basil pesto, chili oil, stracciatella cheese, and perfectly smoked chicken was absolutely outstanding—each flavor complemented the other beautifully. The freshness of the house-baked bread and the peppery arugula made the entire meal even more enjoyable. The subtle heat from the chili oil truly stood out and elevated the dish. Everything about this experience was top-notch. Highly recommended! Definitely going back soon.

Update: Some sandwiches have more diverse flavour profiles than others. There is no question they taste FRESH. Every part. More indulgent and luxurious for sure. We're lucky to have so many great spots to choose from downtown. Alfie's is different and has its own thing going on in terms of experience of taste and texture profile. Would recommend 🙂

My friend and I both ordered the Torrino and unfortunately it just didn't hit the spot or leave much to be desired. With these kinds of sandwiches for me, it's a 'you know when you know' experience when something excites and satisfies during and even after the fact.

Though the bread is made fresh in-house and has a nice taste, we found it to be too soft and prefer a classic foccacia to compliment the savour and texture of the ingredients inside. We were also underwhelmed at how the flavours really noticeably lacked separation in the variety we got. Everything melded together in such a way that gave just one dimension to the experience of every bite. We couldn't taste the cheese, the meat was little in quantity (though it tasted excellent), and the arugula didn't do much for the sandwich. The spicy eggplant dominated the flavour. For $21 before taxes, we found it just didn't amaze and had too little prosciutto. These comments though are just our personal preference, by no means are these sandwiches *bad* tasting.. they are undoubtedly fresh and are made with care. The shop itself is clean and the operation is well-organized, friendly, and sufficiently staffed. I appreciate that they are open late, and it is for that reason that I will consider returning.

The aesthetics and the design of place is very pleasing. The lighting is good. The service is great, orders are fast, but the food isn't very good.

The sandwich is built to be "instagramable", aka a beautiful cross section of ham, cheese and spreads. When there is half an inch worth of ham and cheese and spreads in a sandwich, it is a true culinary artwork but also a brick of salt.

Half an inch worth of prosciutto in a sandwich is way too much. It overpowers the beautifully done bread, some of the glazes and other sauces and layers in the sandwich.

For the second half of the sandwhich, I took out the brick of prosciutto and it was almost perfect. The bread is a real star but the amount of filling and salt is sickening. It is an Italian sandwich with American proportions. Very pleasing to look at but quite heavy to eat.

We enjoyed our sandwiches Parma Classico and Monalisa. I enjoyed the taste of basil intertwined with pistachio and Mozzarella 😇 It is best for take out as they don’t have space to dine in.
