Beautiful view for a delicious lunch. We visited with a party of 8 on a Wednesday afternoon, and found a tables on the deck outdoors with ease. Our meal was excellent, highlights were the gator bites, fried mushrooms, blackened chicken platter, and fish sandwich. Great atmosphere, relaxing beach available, with tables and chairs.

I visited Gator Joe's on the 4th of July 2026, and we were able to find parking, surprisingly! As we walked up to the entrance on the boardwalk that crosses the sandy beaches on both sides, there was live music playing near an outside bar area, kids sliding on bouncy houses, people sunbathing, and swimming. Country music was playing inside the restaurant. Windows surround the whole dining area for perfect views of the lake and the horizon. There is a bar inside, and another one for the back patio seating. A patio deck extendes over Lake Weir for spectacular views of all the boats, jet skis, swimmers and birds. We ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer, which was delicious and well-presented, albeit, a small portion. I had a very tasty Strawberry Mimosa, small and served in plastic, but very good. We also ordered the Shrimp and Grits; and, while even though it tasted fine, we were underwhelmed/unimpressed. Our service was prompt, friendly and fun. The best part of Gator Joe's is the awesome scenery, good vibes, great music, excellent service, and of course- lake access! It's always fun to visit Gator Joe's!

This was our first visit and we enjoyed it. Portions are huge, the BLT was loaded with bacon and the gator tacos were tasty!

Go for the beach vibe, skip the fancy mixed drinks (not worth it), and stick with beer, wine (if they have it), or straight up.

I've had several meals here, all average but fun, to sit outside and watch the sun go down, or on the beach with your toes in the sand.

Great place! Our server Ernest was the Best!!! He made drink recommendations, food recommendations. The Gator tail was fabulous. The place is small but has alot of atmosphere. We sat out on the deck that over looks Lake Weir and the sunset was Fabulous.
Put this place on your to stop for Great food and Atmosphere.
