The takoyaki is different. Its pretty good but my daughter was expecting it to be moving and waving around. It wasn't at all. Not a complaint because it was goobut it is different. For the Ramen, the broth was great. Its not often I drink all the broth. I wish it came with corn and bok choy but thats just my kinda flavor. Otherwise we enjoyed it and ill get those additional ingredients added.

Boru has the best ramen and chicken tonkatsu in the city. Not only that, every server weâve ever had has always been a 10/10. Great prices, big servings! Such a cute place for a date AND thereâs claw machines + sweet society (ice cream and takoyaki)!

Boru is a great spot if youâre looking for creative, modern takes on Japanese comfort food. The menu strikes a nice balance between familiar flavors and bold twists, especially for noodle lovers.
The Crawfish Mazemen is a standoutâthick, brothless noodles coated in a rich, spicy sauce with mala seasoning that delivers real heat without overpowering the dish. The fried crawfish tails add a satisfying crunch, while the crispy garlic chips and negi oil bring everything together. Itâs indulgent, flavorful, and definitely one of those dishes you keep thinking about afterward.
The Chashu Bowl is more subtle but equally well executed. The combination of kikurage mushrooms, spinach, ajitama egg, and sesame seeds over rice feels balanced and comforting. The pork chashu is tender and savory, and the karamiso adds a nice depth of flavor.
We also tried the Sugoi fries, which were perfectly crispy and well-seasoned, making them an easy crowd-pleasing starter.
The bao buns with karaage were another highlightâsoft, fluffy buns paired with crispy, juicy fried chicken and bold flavors that really popped.
Service really elevated the experienceâPeter, our waiter, was incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive. He took the time to explain menu items, made thoughtful recommendations, and checked in at just the right moments without being intrusive.
Prices are on the higher side, but the quality, creativity, and excellent service justify it. Overall, Boru is a strong choice for anyone who enjoys modern Japanese cuisine with bold flavors and a welcoming atmosphere.
