Its ok. Decided to give this place a try after reading all the glowing reviews, and honestly its OK, not bad by any means, but also not worth raving about. Went on a weekend, so it was busy. Seemed like the girl taking orders was her first day as she could not take a single order without asking someone else for help. When it came to confirming most orders, she got them wrong and it needed correction.

There's limited seating indoors, maybe 10-15 seats, and a small patio thats nice to sit on if you can get a seat as well.

The food itself is ok. Got the Hautomatoc burger and Blue Cheese Burger with fries and two cream filled chocolate donuts. The burgers were ok, sauces were alright, found both burgers were fairly similar otherwise if you took the peppers off one and the blue cheese off the other. Fries were fries, nothing special.

I will give the donuts credit, they are good. The dough it fresh and chewy with lots of flavour. My only personal preferance would be if they used custard instead of whip cream and milk chocolate rather than dark chocolate as it does have a strong taste compared to milk chocolate. The nutella filled donut was much more enjoyable. Maybe thats just my taste buds but the person I was with also agreed that theres room for improvements.

Hopefully this place explores new ideas, tastes and flavours, as the area benefits from a great independant burger joint, so hopefully this can be it.

Customer service service is always great. Finally got the names of who i typically get service from. (Shout outs to Amshu and Des!) This place has a subtle dope vibe. If you're into quality food, from great tasting burgers, dope donuts, cinnamon pie rolls, quesadillas and burritos....man.. this is the spot. Even their burgers and fries are bonb (just wish the fries had a bigger serving). Been coming here for 2 years and I hate how much im spending on their food every week lol so dang addictive. But yea.. this place is good.

MEXICAN Food, not burgers.

I will say, we love the burgers. The mexican smelled good and we decided to try it in 5/5, big mistake.

First, ordered on the app, and were told to pick up at 6, 20 min. 3 chimichanga, one quesadilla all with chips and 4 donuts. 176 bucks all in. Great, show up shortly before 6, and they tell me they're just finishing up.....

25 min later i'm finally getting the last piece, the quesadilla, Not sure why that took the longest, but its not 40 min after I ordered, and 20+ min after I was told to be there. I get it takes time, but why not build that in?

Now the food... underwhelming to say the least. 6 bucks for the "platter" is definitely not recommended, some lettuce and refried beans, would not do that again. The chimichangas were just okay, not great, not terrible, but not what we expect from elijahs.

To top it off, the peppers sprinkled throughout were so hot that the 3 of us eating the chimichangas, who all love spice, found it almost unbearable.

The quesadilla was also very spicy, and it was soggy, I guess from salsa being all throughout it. The salsa with the chips was so spicy we didnt even eat it.

All in all, very disappointed, and would not recommend.

Go for the burgers, they are great, skip the mexican.

Got the chance to try Elijah's Automatic and their new Mexican menu (The Borrowed Donkey) and left very happy (and full) both times. The burgers hit the spot and are definitely an elevated option using flame-broiled meat vs. other fast-food joints for a relatively similar price.

This spot is unique and offers Mexican items as well now, which speaks to the founder's versatility and passion for food. I had the chance to try the steak burrito, the bean and cheese burrito and the chicken enchilada. The steak has a little kick to it! Very flavourful but fair warning if you're sensitive to spice. I would highly recommend the bean and cheese burrito and need to say the way they make the tortillas makes such a huge difference. The enchilada is a big portion, as it's a whole platter so definitely shareable.

Lastly, I just want to mention that the service is really wonderful. The whole staff is friendly and attentive, so much so that if you have 20 questions about the menu they will give recommendations and make sure you are getting what you want, which really speaks to how much care went into this spot. If you're in the area, check it out :)

Fries were fantastic, well salted, crisp, juicy, and had a really good taste. I believe they use beef tallow to fry them so it imparts that extra flavour. The burger was a bit on the smaller side, and I think it's listed as a smash burger. Normally when I think smash burger I expect crispy edges, this didn't have that, but that's ok because it has this great char grilled flavour and was very moist and tasty and well done. A good tasting burger is what we're after, and this was that. They have donuts as well, I had to get one and it was nice and fresh and good also.

My partner and I were really excited to try this place and we both left extremely underwhelmed. The idea of a burger place inside an old house was the draw for us. The minute we walked through the door, the excitement was over. The first thing you see when you walk in is a Christmas tree (which is not the vibe at the end of January) however without these leftover Christmas decorations, there would be nothing but black walls and dirt to look at. The dirt on the walls and shutters in the dining area was disgusting. Tables were not wipped off after guests had finished with them so you were expected to just eat over someone else's mess. The food was below average in taste and quality and yet above average in cost. There was more grease in my burger than condiments. We asked for mayo on the side and were told they didn't carry mayo! At a burger place?! Still confused about that one. The only redeeming quality of this place was the service of the gentleman running the counter. He was welcoming, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. Since the owners are clearly saving money on decor and cleaning services, they should consider giving this guy a raise because he is the reason people will keep coming back.

One of the many new options for burgers on the Queensway. This used to be a law office converted into an eatery. The inside gives a pretty cool vibe and they have it all from burgers, to Mexican, ice cream, shakes, and designer donuts. I found it pretty pricey and to be honest, I was not blown away although my kid looooved the chili cheese fries. In fact, she loved the whole experience (and full disclaimer she is a chef). Perhaps when I think of a great burger I think of LOTS of pickles and some spice. Maybe I should have tried a different burger.I guess that's where I felt my Automatic burger was lacking but I think they did have hot sauce options. I'm admittedly a tough critic, so a solid 4.

Food was awesome! I got the automatic with bacon and wife got the chicken burrito. Got a tiramisu donut while we waited and it was really good. Size of the burger is deceiving. I have a big appetite and this meal sorted me. The beef tallow fries were awesome. Honestly the fries and burger kinda reminded me of McDonald’s style but with actual good quality ingredients. I think that’s part of why my brain initially thought the burger wouldn’t fill me up. Who knows what’s in the mickey d’s patties (sawdust? 🤷‍♂️), but the automatic was in another realm. Gentleman at the cash was super warm/friendly/enthusiastic. Lastly, I’m generally not a burrito guy and will go quesadilla 99% of the time, but had a few bites of the wife’s burrito and it was the best burrito I have ever had. Burrito is done fresh to order and the tortillas are made in house fresh daily as well. Would totally go back.

Elijah’s Automatic serves one of the juiciest burgers I have had in the GTA. The texture alone immediately brings back memories of what McDonald’s would've tasted like back in the day, but with a noticeably more premium touch in both presentation and execution. This is the kind of place you go when you want to step away from overly fancy burgers and just enjoy something classic that works.
I ended up trying most of the lineup, and honestly, there is not a dramatic difference between the Automatic with Cheese, Bacon Cheese Automatic, and Golden State. The builds are fairly similar, which is not a bad thing, just something to note. The standout for me was the Hotomatic with Cheese. The hot pepper slaw had more heat than expected and added a real kick between the patties that made it memorable. If I had to recommend just one, it would be either the Automatic with Cheese or the Golden State. Both are clean, balanced, and hard to mess up.
My biggest obsession here is the fries cooked in beef tallow. There is something about them that instantly brings back the taste I remember from childhood. If anything, I just wish they came in a larger portion.
One small letdown was the Bacon Cheese Automatic. While the burgers overall feel thoughtfully assembled, the bacon felt oddly disconnected, almost like it was added as an afterthought. Instead of blending in, it stood out with sharp saltiness and threw off the balance a bit.
That said, this place does exactly what it sets out to do. Simple, nostalgic, and executed with care. I will gladly be back.

Went here at night time a little after the dinner rush so we got a table right away. We ordered the automatic burger and the golden state burger. We also tried the beef fat fries and the chili cheese fries. Overall the food is great and the burgers are double patty by default. The burger is very tasty. The beef fat fries are simple fries but they taste really good! The chili cheese fries look crazy because of the red hot sauce but it wasn’t spicy at all and only had a little bit of kick. The green chilis included in the fries are a bit more spicier though. Service was great and the person at the counter explained each burger so we can make an informed choice. The only criticism I would add would be that the food overall is pricey which seems to be the norm in most specialty burger joints. But the double patty burgers make the price easier to accept :)

Finally decided to try this place out!
I ordered fries, the bacon automatic and a banana Biscoff ice cream dessert.

Firstly the fries were really good. Just a heads up - One order of fries is pretty tiny.

The bacon automatic was decent. But also this was small. I did like the flame broiled taste!

The banana Biscoff dessert was a bit disappointing. I would not recommend this.

Overall, the food was good but also very small portions. After spending $30 I left the place not full.
