One of my top 3 ramen spots in the city, still after 13+ years.

The detailed revu:
As someone with Vancouver experience of Japanese restaurants, Toronto has a very similar pattern: you want to go to a Japanese owned Japanese restaurant and you'll not miss.

It's very easy to tell: the staff usually will speak their native language to each other for expediency of communication and service.

This gem proves that living in downtown parts has its yummy tummy benefits.

Had the beautiful Spicy Gyoza to starts; it had a delish ratio of large dollops of spicy bits.

Then hit the Tsuke-men since i couldn't spot the Dan Dan on the menu. The Tsuke-men ramen 🍜 is lovely; finding one is rare and few.

Luckily, I hit the place during non-peak hours 3pm. No line up, just a table immediately and a few minutes before I could order from them.

I'd passed by the Back Bay location of this restaurant multiple times and had always heard great things about it, so I finally decided to give this place a try. I was super impressed with the overall quality of my ramen. I tried the vegetarian ramen; the broth was super creamy and flavorful, and there were a lot of noodles. I wish they had included more tofu, but otherwise my ramen was perfect. The food came out quickly and was very filling but without being overwhelmingly large.

We were sightseeing in the Harvard & Cambridge areas of Boston and stumbled upon this great little ramen place for lunch. We both had the pork belly ramen soup (with a side portion of gyoza) and it was all excellent. Highly recommend for a casual, delicious, quick, cheap (ish) lunch - thank you!

I ordered the tsukemen, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The noodles were quite firm—more hard than chewy—and lacked the springy texture I was hoping for. The dipping broth also felt a bit too thin for tsukemen. I’ve had a better experience with tsukemen at Ramen Raijin, so this was a bit disappointing.

I’ve visited Hokkaido Ramen several times, and their Tsukemen and Kara-Miso Ramen consistently stand out as some of the best in the city. Both dishes are rich and authentic, with deep, well balanced flavours that are satisfying without being overly salty. Each bite leaves you wanting more.

Their gyoza is also worth mentioning; perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy inside. Overall, Hokkaido Ramen is a spot I highly recommend for anyone looking for quality ramen in Toronto.

We were lucky to not have to wait as we were earlier than the usual dinner time. Different sizes of ramen bowls takes care of everyone's appetite. Our group of 3 ordered 1 each of the Cha shu, Shoyu and Tokusen Toroniku ramen. Loved the flavour and authenticity of the ramen. Will be back.

A very cozy place for a quick dine-in. The ramen is pretty good, tastes amazing. It’s pretty busy & crowded but not noisy, but it doesn’t have coat hanging area so it’s a bit inconvenient in the winter. The regular/ medium bowl seems small BUT the bowl is deep so the medium portion ends up enough to fulfill my stomach

Been here a few times in the hopes that the food will improve but totally underwhelmed each time. I don’t understand the high reviews… I’ve been to pretty much all the ramen joints downtown and this one is very sub par. Service was perfect though.

The veggie ramen was a huge disappointment. It it’s more expensive than their regular pork ramens but had no toppings other than the cheapest vegetables… cabbage, carrot, bean sprouts and corn… at least add a piece of tofu or something. Huge rip off. The broth tasted like soy milk and not much else. I liked the fact that there were vegan kale noodles as an option though.

My son is a huge ramen aficionado and he had the regular pork ramen which he said was not as good as the other places. He didn’t even finish it (a first for him).

Super confused why people like this place… it is expensive, bad value and not that good in our opinion.

If it wasn’t for the fact that it was cold out, I kind of would have went somewhere else. The food itself wasn’t bad. However, being told they had accessibility (the entrance was not accessible at all) plus the wait time to order being pretty long and then the additional wait for the food, plus the limited food options, it just ended up throwing me off.

When you ask for a physical menu it does display an allergy/food restriction list at the beginning, which I thought was great!

The food was good and really filling, I liked the flavour, the noodles were a bit hard but that’s okay. It was a bit pricey for the black garlic ramen but I understand the price considering it’s black garlic. The atmosphere was actually nice and intimate for a late night hang with friends. Would I ever come here again though? Not really unless they get one of those plastic ramps to make it accessible.

Over all a 3.5 out of 5!!!

Another great spot for ramen in Toronto. The ramen is great and the service was also very good.

Good for those looking for a tasty ramen and short on time.

I ordered the shio ramen since I felt like a lighter soup on this day. The soup was light and creamy but very flavourful.

Came with bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, green onions, a slice of Naruto fish cake, pork cha shu, and one small red pickled plum.

Perfect for lunch. The noodles were done just right and as you can see in one of the photos two types of peppers on the table. White pepper and shichimi pepper.

One thing to note is the noodles served here are egg noodles which is not what most places serve.

This location has been around for many years and was listed in the Michelin Guide back in 2017. Worth a visit when you are in the area which is just a short walk from the Eaton Centre.

We had the black garlic and kara miso ramen. Both were delicious and had great depth in favour. I got a seasoned egg on the side since the kara miso doesn’t come with one.

I recently visited this ramen restaurant located right across from Harvard University, and it was a great experience! The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was delicious—definitely worth the visit. Plus, if you download their app, you get a free appetizer, which is a nice touch. The only downside is that their meat options are a bit limited, and most of the dishes feature a pork-based broth. Still, overall, it's a solid spot for a tasty meal!
