Travis went above and beyond for us! He worked tirelessly from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM to get install a brand new water heater and the Halo 5 whole-home system all in the same day. Tackling a massive dual installation like that in a single 13-hour shift is no small feat, yet he remained patient, professional, and took the time to answer all our questions and explain how everything worked. His dedication to making sure we weren't left without water really showed how much he cares about his customers. We can’t thank him enough and are definitely looking forward to continuing to do business with your team!

Daniel came out today to do our plumbing service and he was thorough, friendly, and all around outstanding! What an incredibly kind man! We adopted a 4-month-old puppy just 12 days ago and Daniel happened to show up with 3 Milk Bones in his shirt pocket, which made him her instant best friend. He fed her one by one during his time here and she was so happy and no longer skittish, like she was when she first arrived. He was calm in demeanor, just like our sweet girl is. He even left her 10 Milk Bones to enjoy later! What a nice, truly kind and caring man. I personally appreciate that Daniel was willing to use his auger on our disgusting upstairs toilet (I peeked in) which my darling human child had flushed a Buzz Lightyear action figure down just a week prior. Daniel was also kind enough to take a look under our sinks, under our dishwasher, and at our other two toilets. He showed me where there had been a previous leak, which is no longer active, on the under-sink hose/tubing, which was connected to one of our faucets and suggested we have a new one installed before that turns into an issue, since the current one is 8 years old.
I also want to add that I spoke with Deb in Customer Service on the phone a few days ago and she was an absolute delight to talk with. She made my day!
We absolutely love A/C Plus! Thank you, Daniel and Deb! You both are awesome!!

A/C Plus has outstanding customer service. From the moment I called I was handled as though I was a preferred customer! Deb was pronominal. She setup service to happen in an hour or two and kept calling back with updates. Jacob, the repair tech, was on time, polite, professional and repaired my unit in no time flat! I am more than satisfied with the service and have recommended them to my neighbor for their annual maintenance service plan. I took out the service plan as well! 😃👍

Review of A/C Plus Heating & Cooling
I contacted A/C Plus Heating & Cooling - used by my home’s builder, to service our HVAC during the recent cold weather in Murfreesboro. Their ratings looked strong, but it took three calls across two days to get scheduled. I was told the diagnostic visit would be $89. The issue: the system was blowing 45–65°F air for 20–30 minutes each cycle, reaching only ~72°F at best, and the house stayed around 64–66°F during the coldest nights. Normally the system should deliver 88°F+ when aux heat engages.
Visit Summary
The technician arrived at the end of the window (3:45pm). He was polite, new, and still training. Using an AI-driven app and calling a co-worker, he inspected the system and found no faults. He couldn’t explain the poor performance and focused on the Nest thermostat, suggesting an upgrade. In the Nest app, I confirmed aux heat activity and located the Emergency Heat option. Turning it on raised vent temps to ~84°F at ~37°F outdoor temp - far better than before. I asked repeatedly for a direct check of the heat strips/elements. He declined, saying everything “checked out,” adding he “didn’t do anything at all” and would “cut a pretty good deal.”
I prepared to pay the $89 fee, but he asked me to wait while he generated options. Twenty minutes later, he presented three packages:
1. $786 - repairs, surge protection, insulation replacement, membership, etc.
2. $475 - repairs, blower wheel cleaning, insulation replacement, membership, etc.
3. $223 - repairs, dispatch fee, membership, parts and labor.
He stated the $89 only covered arrival, not the time spent onsite.
No repairs had been performed. No parts replaced. No error codes identified. Diagnostics were minimal, and the only improvement came from adjustments I made in the Nest app. I agreed to pay only the $89 and asked them to invoice the rest with itemized details. He asked me to sign a blank form; I declined. After he phoned the office, they told me to wait for an emailed invoice.
POST-VISIT ISSUES:
That evening, at ~22°F outside, emergency heat produced only 62°F air. Forcing Emergency Heat again didn’t help; indoor temps dropped to ~65°F. We used a fireplace and space heater overnight. By morning the vents were blowing 45–60°F.
I called A/C Plus to report the unresolved issue and to question the charges. Issue was not resolved.
SECOND OPINION:
A different HVAC company inspected the unit. They immediately found the root cause: the emergency heat had no 240V supply (reading 0.00). The outdoor disconnect and both breakers were melted/fried. They replaced the disconnect and breakers, then retested - everything worked properly afterward, including the heating elements.
Video from the first visit shows the A/C Plus tech opened the unit but did no voltage testing and did not inspect the breakers. The second company actually tested the unit, verified the heat strips were functional once power was restored.
ADVICE:
If you’re not familiar with HVAC systems, ask for clear proof of every step they take. Ask them to show readings, tests, and components. If something feels off, get a second opinion and request a technician experienced with your specific unit.
THE POSITIVE:
To their credit, A/C Plus agreed to drop all charges since no work was performed. This is the reason the rating is 1-star instead of 2 stars.
