We were loyal clients of Best Friends Animal Hospital for 15 years. They sold to this corporate chain, "Hometown Veterinary Partners, and things have fallen apart. After a routine visit in November, they lost our dog's stool sample and never contacted us. I called to see what had happened and they said they didn't know so I was told to bring in a new stool sample. When we returned today with a new sample, we found a "closed for lunch" sign at noon and not re-opening until 1:30, I called the number to see if I could leave the sample outside. The front desk picked up and said they could get the door and take the sample. After getting inside, she pulled up our dog's history and saw they would not run the sample because we were out of the "timeline" in which the test was approved and we would need to pay for a new test. I calmly said that we would not be paying for a new test because they had not only lost the sample but they had never informed us of a timeline. She was extremely rude and aggressive in response to this. I made it clear that I would not be paying for her incompetence because she was the person I gave the sample to. She got very heated and started raising her voice, making sarcastic statements and bullying us out of the clinic when I was trying to ask about speaking to the manager who was not available. The staff member became antagonistic, yelling sarcastically, "Congratulations! Congratulations!" She then escalated, yelling at us to "get out" and threatening to call 911, even as we left. She followed us outside, yelling across the parking lot from 50 yards away. I couldn't make out exactly what she was saying but it was belligerent. I received an email implying we’re banned with Zara's records sent via email. I can’t believe how unprofessional this was. I truly hope this is all on their front desk camera because it was unacceptable and inappropriate. Sadly, we’ve seen other reviews reflecting similar disappointment. I would strongly recommend you avoid this vet if you are looking for a respectable, professional vet who will truly communicate and provide the proper care your pet deserves.
Update: I have tried calling the number you left multiple times. It goes directly to the clinic and I am hung up on. I’m happy to discuss this with you but this number is not working.

Sadly we did not have a great experience. I do not like posting not so favorable reviews. My sweet Petey had eye surgery there. After two days I noticed puss and lots of drainage from his left eye. Iwas concerned of infection. They actually reached out right before I was ready to call them over my concern his eye might be infected. Receptionist when called stated they forgot to add the blood work charge and asked for payment. Of course paid and then proceeded to let them Know I was just about to call them. I explained the concern with Petey feeling his left eye might be infected. She said to send a picture and they will get right back to me. I immediately sent a picture. Waiting and waiting and growing more concerned.
I mean this is an eye we are talking about something he could lose possibly and not to mention the pain no doubt. I waited the entire day and nothing. I called the very next morning and nobody answered phone. I left a message and no return call. I ended up having to spend lots of money ( all of
Course worth it) at Urgent Vet here in Sarasota for his serious eye infection. Shame on those people! No problem calling me to make sure on their error of not charging me for the blood work, I paid up. However, when sending them a picture of the eye and calling them and no return call. Well all I can say is how sad they did not care about the health and wellbeing of not just a dog but my best friend! Greed at its finest! Money over safety of care!!! Oh and I also had to deal with them cancelling his eye surgery not once but twice!

Worst veterinary experience in 70 year! Beware! Run away from this evil unprofessional place!
We've had dogs for 70 years, currently have 2 old english sheepdog rescues 10 and 14 years old .When our previous veterinarian retired and sold to Hometown our records continued there. We took our 10 year old female Tasha for her routine yearly cost around 325$.They don't have groomer but offered nails private parts trim and glands cleared( which she never needed). We also asked if there was medication for our 14 year old Cooper who was just there for his annual and has incontinence, hind hip leg issues limitations( similar cost)
The doctor said reading from her records on her tablet that he was 15 pounds and perscribed pills .My husband pointed out her records error that he has always been about 60 pds. Big red flag
When Tasha returned home she was sad refused to eat was continually licking her private parts which I observed were completely down to skin exposed raw like I've never seen!
The rest of the day ,evening she continued to lick and rub her private parts in dirt and grass after peeing, whimpering through the night and into next morning refusing to eat again, we even boiled liver and chicken breast her favorite! I called the vet, was put on hold, when finally able to explaine my concerns about Tasha's pain possible infection from dirt , pain from procedure etc. I was put on hold again. The Receptionist ,not the vet tech not the Dr. relayed message from someone in the back.,saying that Tasha was matted so they had to shave her down, which is what I requested . She suggested trying to get her to sit soak in an oatmeal bath! Ridiculous! I asked if she gets infected from dirt the nicks from shaving what can I do? she said use antibacterial ointment which I'm not sure she should lick! My husband asked about the medicine for Cooper we looked up side affects and diarrhea with already incontinence for an Old English Sheepdog is catastrophic. We said we would be returning the unopened unlisted on bill pills , as we don't want to add to Coopersincontinence. Receptionist said they're 40$ a week for 7 pills!! She forgot to charge it and it was additional not on our bill or on bill which she also forgot to include provide with payment of office visit!!. My husband erroneously assumed an itamized complete bill was included in the bag as it has for years .He went back the next day an repeatedly asked for an itemized bill charged to his account finally got one after her rude excuses but still no additional charge for the unwanted pills which were still not on it.Rude receptionist said that's another bill you owe us that was not given at your appointment! there are no returns she'd be billing us .I looked up on vet meds and Chewy where you can get 30 ,of the same pills and a stronger dose for fraction of the cost. A months supply not week for less!Absolutely highway robbery!!When my husband returned to pay outrageous pill bill he was informed that they denied our ongoing 10 year Chewy renewal request for our 2 dogs heart guard and Bravecto medicine !! Even though we just spent 325 $ for Tasha's yearly plus almost 50 for Coopers week of pain meds. and a similar bill for Coopers yearly a few months before! They informed him they sent our records somewhere somehow to us as they are dropping us! Run from this uncaring unprofessional cruel outrageously expensive place. Before he knew they denied Chewy and dropped us,my husband pointed out if they had apologized cared they hurt nicked, traumatized our dog rather than threaten and be condescending, rude this review would not have been written they responded they're not grooners. FYI whenever my husband brought our dogs in the office, 3 times it was empty unlike previous owners. We missed our many warning signs! Beware warned! Beware!Stay away!

I cannot say enough about the extraordinary care Dr. Diaphni Taylhardat and her staff have given to my dog, Bilbo (almost 17y old!). From the very first visit, it was clear that she is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also deeply passionate, attentive, and genuinely loving toward the animals she treats. Bilbo couldn’t have been in better hands.
When we first brought him in, he was facing a serious neurological issue and was unable to move his back legs. It was a heartbreaking situation, and we were terrified of what the future might hold. Thanks to Dr. Taylhardat’s expertise, dedication, and compassionate approach, Bilbo has made a remarkable recovery. Today, he walks without pain and moves independently around the house — something we once feared might never be possible again.
Dr. Taylhardat is a rare combination of skill, heart, and commitment. We are endlessly grateful for everything she has done for Bilbo and for us.

We had a fantastic visit with Dr. Diaphni Taylhardat at her new office! While it wasn’t our first time seeing her, it was our first visit at her new practice and everything was wonderful. JellyBean was genuinely excited to see her and felt completely comfortable the entire time. We couldn’t be happier and will absolutely be returning! 🐾💙

Hometown Veterinary Partners is fantastic! Dr. Diaphni was caring and thorough, Libby was kind and understanding of Figgy's temperment, and Sarah at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. Figgy loved his visit! He left happy and tail-wagging! Highly recommend this amazing team for anyone looking for great veterinary care.

I had such a great experience at this vet office! The staff here is incredibly friendly and welcoming — you can tell they truly care about both pets and their owners. Dr. Diaphni was wonderful and took the time to explain everything in great detail, which really put me at ease. I also really appreciated how upfront they were about pricing — no surprises, just honest communication. Overall, such a kind and professional team. Highly recommend this office!

Dr. Diaphni has been our family vet for years, and I used to drive a long way just to see her so having her in Sarasota full time now is the best news ever!
She’s incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely listens to every question (and I always have thousands), and has the patience of a saint. She takes time to explain everything clearly even multiple times if needed and what I love most is her holistic approach. She always puts your pet’s wellbeing first and never recommends anything unnecessary.
She’s the trusted vet for my two giant doodles, but recently I brought her a rescue dog I was helping transition into his new home. We knew almost nothing about him and weren’t sure how he would react, but the time, care, and love she showed to make him feel comfortable was truly special.
We’re so, so lucky to have Dr. Diaphni as part of our community here in Sarasota!

I can’t say enough great things about Hometown Veterinary Partners! Dr. Diaphni is incredibly knowledgeable and took her time with my dog, Taco. He tends to get nervous at the vet, but her patience and calm approach really helped him feel more at ease. She explained everything clearly and made sure we never felt rushed.
Libby, the practice manager, also works as a technician and even goes into the rooms to help take history. She’s so thorough and personable, which makes the whole experience even better.
It’s clear that everyone at Hometown Veterinary Partners truly cares about their patients and takes the time to provide the best care possible. I’m so grateful to have such a compassionate and skilled team looking after Taco.
