I got my hair braided here and it turned out really good. The braiders were rlly nice. My braids were neat and not too tight, which I liked because usually my head hurts after getting braids. The shop was clean and the atmosphere was chill. it was worth it. I would definitely come back and recommend it to other people.

LAST UPDATE: as expected, nobody called today (the monday i was told id be called to “resolve the issue”). the owner is beyond sneaky and this is an incredibly poorly run business so i’ll be taking this to the BBB of greater maryland. if you’re a new customer i STRONGLY suggest you look elsewhere and believe the other poor reviews.
UPDATE AS OF THE FOLLOWING DAY: i went in to try to get reimbursed for the horrible job. there was a shop full of people and even the woman sitting next to me in the waiting seating area told me that it wasn’t right how they let me leave the shop. Lili the shops owner spoke with me and said that she’d give me a call on monday to resolve the situation because it was “going to be hard” to get my money back because the work was already done. that’s just part of running a business! sometimes you have to reimburse people when they’re given service they are completely dissatisfied with. i was supposed to have my hair done to be able to take pictures for mother’s day now im going to have to pay another person to fix this shops mistakes. i’m not sure what will be done on monday but if it’s another run around, i’ll be taking this higher up because this is not okay.
maybe i’m just used to my usual braider doing my edges and leave out any time she does my hair but nothing i wanted was done. unfortunately my usual braider was busy last minute and this was the closest location that offers sew ins. my braider asked me twice if i wanted all of the 4 packs in my hair and i said yes both times because she said she probably wouldn’t need it but it would be easy to do regardless. the amount of spacing on the lower part of my hair is insane. i tried to trust the process and the process failed me horribly. personally, i feel like a business shouldn’t offer a service they don’t really even have the means to do. no hot comb, no straightener, no edges, giant gaps in between wefts. i still tipped because i work a service job and believe in tippers karma but i wouldn’t have felt right not warning others who might want to come for a sew in. the site says $180 and up but thats a far jump from the almost $300 i paid. i’m beyond disappointed with this outcome that took over 5 hours.
UPDATE AFTER I DID MY LEAVE OUT AT HOME: i promise you she didn’t do it in shop because she knew id be upset with the outcome. it is so incredibly bulky there’s no point in even doing my edges because i need whatever hair i can puff out to try to cover the GIANT braids on my head. this looks like absolute garbage. i am beyond upset.

My 11yr old has been here twice before, no complaints. Today, I was very disappointed. I booked her appointment over a week ago for medium cornrows at 1:10pm. She didn’t get in the chair until after 3pm. The first picture was what we wanted, no snitch braid. $200 dollars later, the last 3 pictures is what she got. The braids are extremely tight to the point that she’s in pain. You can literally see the tension on her scalp. This was not worth my $200. I don’t recommend this place for any type of design, just basic braiding.

I went here back in February to get box braids. I haven't been in any kind of salon in years, so I went in with an open mind and patience. I like that for the box braids they had the hair there with a room of colors. I decided on waist length and very small braids with curls on the end. I haven't had my hair braided in yeaarrsss, but I'm so glad I got them done.
They had one to multiple people working on my head. It did take about 8-9hrs, but it turned out beautiful.
I probably won't get them so small and long again only because of the time sitting, but I will be back to do something different.
I took one star off as I would of preferred to pay via debit vs using their atm as they were only taking cash. So I would advise to bring cash with you for how much you want to spend. Now that I have an idea how it works, I'll be doing that on my next visit.

I had the best experience here at the braiding palace today, originally I had an appointment elsewhere but they never showed up. I called the braiding palace and they took me in right away. I was the first person in the shop but as people were rolling in the ladies took turns servicing everyone. I had someone’s hands in my hair the entire time I was in the chair. They were all very polite and the environment is very inviting. My favorite part is that they played Christian music which only added to my comfort. Me loving my hair is just the cherry on top, I will definitely be a repeat customer. Thank you braiding palace!

I have been here multiple times, and I will continue to come back! My hair always looks amazing when I leave, and it continues to look nice after one and a half to two months! I highly recommend Braiding Palace to anyone who wants to get QUALITY braids done in the Glen Burnie, Bowie or Baltimore areas!

Yesterday I went to this braiding place at 6:30 a.m. asking for 6 stitch braids. I was told my hair was too short and that I needed 8 instead, which I agreed to. A braider came from the back—she was nice, but the way she parted my hair made the braids look a complete mess. She was extremely slow and kept redoing the same braids over and over. By 10:30 a.m., she was only on my 7th braid.
I stood up and asked her to actually look at my hair, thinking maybe the style just wasn’t right for my hair type or length. She immediately got up and sat back down looking frustrated, like she’d been working since 6:30 and I had no right to speak up. I calmly said maybe the style wasn’t good for my hair and asked to switch to jumbo knotless braids, 3x3, mid-back length. She said okay and that someone else would do it.
They washed and blow-dried my hair, and by 11:30–12:00, they started the new style. The main braider was fine, but the helper finishing the ends was not feeding the hair correctly, leaving the ends thin and uneven. I told her she needed to add more hair at the bottom. Her response was, “I’m a braider,” like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I replied, “I’m a nurse,” because just having a title doesn’t mean you’re good at what you do.
When everything was done, they had the nerve to charge me $220 for mediocre braids. This place is clearly focused on money, not quality, and that’s not okay. The ends are not full, not even, and not what I asked for. I paid for a service I did not receive, and I’m extremely disappointed. What I asked for vs what o got A WASTE OF 220 dollars

came in less than a week ago to get crochet hair installed, and it was clear that the stylist did not know what she was doing. Someone else in the shop had to continuously tell her what to do throughout the service.
I called to have the work fixed and was told the shop was too busy. I called again on Monday and couldn’t get through. The fact that I reached out on Friday to correct an issue and still wasn’t accommodated is bad business.
My hair should never have been left looking like this. It is so poorly done that I now have to take it out completely, which means I wasted both my time and my money.
If a stylist does not know how to properly perform a service, that should be communicated upfront instead of providing poor-quality work.
So now the hair has to be cut out so that's wasted money and I'm pissed 😡😡

My hair was done very nice. My only issue is the pricing of the style and how slow the services are. Usually when I go somewhere to get braids, it’s usually one person and it takes them 4 hours max to do my hair. When I come here, it’s like two or three people in my hair and it still takes them 5-7 hours. My last style here was two strand twist with my OWN natural hair, no weave and they charged me $220. Crazy. If you do come here, just have no expectations and expect to be here for a while.

I've been back 3 times in 6 days trying to get my daughters twists fixed that Gladys did. She hung up on me when I called to figure out how our schedules could align. Caroline did her best to help. I didn't yell or curse to deserve the treatment from Gladys. I will try once more and then I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General for giving me the run around and taking my money without giving me the service.

I got knotless boho braids done by Caroline and Mirabelle and my service was professional, quick and came out amazing! I made an appointment for 5am and Caroline was already there waiting before I got there and immediately made sure pricing was clear by showing me a book with the price for different lengths/widths up front. The shop itself was bright and clean. The ladies were so nice the entire time and kept checking to make sure I was comfortable and happy with how it was looking. I left very happy and will definitely be back!

The braiding ladies are so sweet and attentive. You can expect to have 2 people braiding which will reduce the length of time it takes. I did small-medium box braids butt length and it took 4.5 hours. They also take walk ins! Braids here generally costs $250-$450. They also wash your hair for $25. Braids were neat!
I've come to back to Google to update and add to my above review to share my most recent experience. Unfortunately, as a return client I have decided that I will no longer be patronizing this business as their prices are very inconsistent.
They do not have a set price chart, only price minimums, so the owner has the discretion to charge whatever she wants per client.
I have done my hair 3 times and have been charged 3 different prices, 2 of the times was for the same style.
It is very unprofessional and takes advantage of clients in my opinion. It's unfortunate that this has been my experience as a return client, and if you read the reviews others have reported the same.
