Terrible experience — franchise cutting corners on menu items

I ordered the King Jr. Cheeseburger Meal at this Burger King location (650 Kingston Road / Steeple Hill, Pickering, ON) expecting the bottled water that is clearly advertised and included on the menu.
Instead, they gave me a cup of tap water.

This has now happened to me at least three separate times at this exact location. When I questioned the staff, they openly said “this is just how we do things here.” It’s clearly a deliberate, systematic practice by the franchise owner to shortchange customers and save money.

I escalated this to Burger King Canada Guest Care with full details of the location and issue. Their response? They claimed that because it’s independently owned, they can’t do anything about it and basically washed their hands of it. No contact with the franchise owner, no accountability, nothing.

Extremely disappointed in both the restaurant and corporate. If you order a meal that includes bottled water, don’t expect to actually get it at this location.
Avoid this Burger King if you expect them to deliver what’s on the menu.

Not a terrible restaurant overall (during our drive thru experiences) but we find the fries incredibly salty that we have to spend extra time trying to dust it off when you just want to enjoy it. I also normally share my fries with my toddler but I can't even share these. This has happened more than once sadly and I'm not actually surprised to see other reviews saying the same thing.

Bad customer service. Especially when that chubby indian guy is working. RUCH. Always has some problem. I asked for meal well done and proceeded to tell me he can't that I was wasting food by asking them to make my meal well done. I don't know what kind of people they hiring now. Service and quality has dropped at this location since around the time I started seeing that guy working there. And he is supposedly a manager. My drink always tastes funny when that guy is working. If that's the type
of people they are hiring now I will not return here. Not everyone should be handling food. Employees should be clean and hygienic and not be tampering with customers food Lost a customer that's been coming since they first opened and will not going back there.

On this visit I ordered the sausage croissant breakfast meal and 2 apple pies. Food was good. The coffee which comes with the meal is now a small instead of the usual medium size. The atmosphere was very noisy and disruptive due to high school students whom were just sitting around talking loudly, being boisterous, and did not order anything. Points lost due to the environmental noise.

Spicy chicken burger really wasn't that spicy, worse was too much salt on the fries. The salt made the fries unenjoyable.

Looking for an affordable alternative to fast food breakfast? Burger King has been around since 1954. This location is located in a busy plaza which includes a grocery store and drug store. We had a 2 can dine breakfast coupon for $6.99. Can't find a better deal than that!
The croissant was delicious and unlike the Big M chain, they did not make any cost cutting like smaller egg, sausage or croissant. The sausage was juicy and massive. The egg was the scramble style made in a round mold.
The hashbrowns were bite size full of potato goodness. I don't usually big up fast food but this one hit the spot.

The dining room is modern, clean and spacious. This location did go through a brand refresh to make it look more appealing.

Overall I would recommend this place and if you get the coupons in the mail then don't forget to bring them. You can also order from their app and there are coupon offers in the app.

Update May 20 2024. The restaurant underwent renovations. The dining area is modern and spacious. No more kids play land. The breakfast coupon is now 2 can dine for $9.99. The croissantwich was delicious and the sausage was meaty. Love the mini hashbrowns as well. Will come back!

I have always had a wonderful customer service experience while ordering at drive through.
I personally like to have a coffee instead of pop for a side and whenever they don't have a fresh coffee, they put a fresh pot on and bring the coffee with our meals order outside in the waiting area; as it takes a few minutes to brew a fresh pot.
Congratulations team. Excellent service and keep it up.

Although currently under construction when I went there before service was very fast, speedy and efficient. My order was usually what I asked for. I can't wait for it to re-open.

I walked there anticipating a burger. The small fries could have been more in quantity though and there was too much ketchup on my burger. Service was quick though.
