I have just placed an order online with The Gourmet Gift from Australia for our family in Windsor, and I was naturally a little nervous ordering from overseas.

Shortly after placing my order, Thomas emailed me to suggested a larger board to ensure the goods I had selected would look its very best. He was so caring, thoughtful, and helpful throughout the process, which immediately put my mind at ease.

I would highly recommend The Gourmet Gift to anyone looking for a company that truly cares about its customers and provides exceptional customer service.

Chose The Gourmet Gifts for their same-day delivery service, as they claim to be "Canada’s #1 same-day basket delivery." Put in the order at least 10 hours before their same-day delivery cut-off time. Just received an email saying that I will have to pay $89.99 for over-night delivery service, or the box will be delivered in 2-3 business days. I called customer service, and they said they'd charge a 20% restocking fee, if I want to cancel because they're unable to deliver same-day and fulfill the order placed, as promised. They're now saying that the date chosen on the website is a "shipping date". I screenshot the website where it clearly sates "DELIVERY DATE." I can see the 1 Star reviews have been accurate. This is a clear money grab. Will never place any orders from here again, corporate or personal.

Edit: I've asked for a refund. They've now called to let me know that instead of processing a refund, because they "don't want cancellations", that they'll deliver the box for tomorrow at no extra charge with an overnight service. I've accepted this option as I'm too tired to argue for a refund any longer. It is not ideal, but worse things have happened.

I am from out of town and wanted to send something to a retiring colleague who is 7.5 hours away from me. Once I started searching for a wine and basket delivery service for the Ottawa area, The Gourmet Gifts was my top choice based on their site selection. I was able to customize and order and submit with ease. Their selection is amazing and I love that it allows customization.
They communicated promptly and upgraded with a replacement tray as the one I ordered was sold out. Thomas was quick to respond and very kind. I will be using them again!

Buyer beware! I don’t usually leave reviews but hope this saves someone else from making the same mistake I made. Attached is the email sent to Gourmet Gifts 3 days ago without any response:
Unfortunately, I'm not able to provide a favourable review for your company. Although the fruit basket was delivered as promised, it was horribly disappointing compared to the expectation outlined on your website. See attached photos comparing what is advertised vs what arrived. I recognize that the transport of the basket may have shifted the items but this basket looks like a disaster. On top of this disappointment, the family didn't know who the basket came from because the card I thoughtfully wrote was not included...although I was a bit embarrassed to admit it came from me after seeing the photo of what had arrived.

I spent a significant amount of time searching for the perfect gift for this grieving family, writing a heartfelt message to them, dealt with numerous emails back and forth with your company around the delivery, basket unavailability, alternate baskets, etc. only to be entirely dissatisfied all for $204.63!

I will be writing a review and hopefully this will save other customers the frustration and embarrassment of sending such a disastrous "Gourmet Gift".

Would purchase again

The delivery was on time despite the order being placed a day before. All the items were delivered exactly as ordered, included the extras I paid for. The packaging was very nice. Would definitely recommend.
