🚨 SAVE YOUR MONEY. SERIOUSLY. 🚨

First time here. Last time here. And honestly, I’m still trying to figure out how this place is in business.

This was a $100 lesson in what NOT to expect from a restaurant.

The service was painfully lackluster from the start. My husband ordered a Miller Lite. When he wanted another, we were told they were out. Fine. He ordered a Coors Light instead—only to be told they had ONE LEFT. Maybe check your beer inventory before people sit down?

The appetizer came out quickly, so for a brief moment we thought things might actually be okay.

WRONG.

I ordered the Birria quesadilla. We waited 30 MINUTES before our waitress finally came over and told me they couldn’t make it. Thirty minutes. Not five. Not ten. Thirty. Apparently nobody thought it was important to tell me until I had already sat there waiting for something that wasn’t coming.

So I ordered a Philly steak quesadilla instead.

Then we waited.

And waited.

And waited.

ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES after ordering, the food finally started coming out—and of course, it didn’t even come out together. Meals trickled out one at a time like they were being delivered by someone walking here from another restaurant.

My Philly quesadilla had hard peppers and gigantic chunks of steak.

My son’s Philly cheesesteak fries? Same problem.

My daughter’s chicken bacon ranch loaded fries had chicken that looked like processed deli meat thrown on top of fries. She literally picked around it.

My husband ordered pulled pork tacos. Except the pork wasn’t pulled—it was chunks of meat drowning under what looked like an entire bottle of BBQ sauce.

And after waiting 80 MINUTES, you’d think the food would at least be worth the wait.

It wasn’t.

Yes, the portions were large. But what good is a huge portion when you don’t want to eat it? Everything was bland, poorly executed, and completely underwhelming.

Our bill was approximately $100, and we didn’t even eat half of what was brought to us.

And here’s the ultimate review:

WE LEFT AND HAD TO GO GET FOOD SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE WE WERE STILL HUNGRY.

Think about that.

We just spent $100 at a restaurant and then had to go somewhere else to actually get something we wanted to eat.

That’s not a bad experience.

That’s an absolute failure.

I don’t expect perfection when I go out to eat. But I do expect food that resembles what I ordered, food that is actually prepared properly, reasonably attentive service, and food to arrive sometime before I forget what I ordered in the first place.

None of that happened here.

So if you’re thinking about trying this place, take our experience as a warning:

Don’t waste your time. Don’t waste your money. And definitely don’t arrive hungry—you’ll probably leave hungry anyway.

There are way too many restaurants out there that actually care about their food and customers to waste another dollar here.

$100 poorer, still hungry, and absolutely certain we’ll NEVER be back.

⭐ 0/5 if I could give it.

FIRST. AND. LAST. TIME.

My family and I stopped by Bay Bell to see what everyone was talking about, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The staff was friendly, hardworking, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. I had the lobster roll, and it was fresh, flavorful, and practically melted in my mouth. We also tried the berry salad, which was absolutely delicious. For dessert, I had the carrot cake, and it was the perfect finish to the meal. The food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic, and we’ll definitely be coming back.

Excellent food and outstanding service! The fish tacos and walleye were delicious. Our server mentioned that each server has support from a drink runner, busser, and food runner, and it really showed. The teamwork kept everything running smoothly, and we never had to wait for anything. We’ll definitely be back!

This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have ever had. From start to finish, both the service and food fell far below reasonable expectations.

After being seated, it took nearly an hour just to place our order, followed by another hour before our food arrived. The individual serving us, who we later learned was one of the restaurant's owners, was unable to answer basic menu questions, appeared disorganized when taking orders, and was consistently rude to both customers and staff.

When the food finally arrived, it looked nothing like the menu photos. I have attached photos comparing what was advertised to what was actually served. The dish I received was honestly embarrassing in both appearance and quality. Much of the food seemed as though it had come straight from a can, and I seriously questioned whether the lobster in my meal was genuine. Another person in our group ordered carnitas tacos, and the meat consisted of small cubed pieces that resembled canned pet food more than traditional carnitas.

I brought my concerns directly to the owner, but instead of addressing the issue professionally, she simply rolled her eyes. Despite not eating the meal, I was still charged full price.

Poor food can sometimes be overlooked if a restaurant provides excellent customer service, but in this case both were unacceptable. The combination of long wait times, rude treatment, lack of professionalism, and extremely poor food quality made this an experience I will not repeat. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to others.

Our 1st time eating at Bay Bell was tonight for my daughter's birthday dinner. There were 15 in our party 🥳. They don't take reservations, the parking lot was full. I thought we'd have a long wait. Nope! 20 min wait on a Friday was quick. Our server was sweet, very efficient and patient. Every meal was served hot and delicious 😋. We will definitely be back.
