I have always been a loyal customer of Best Buy due to their competitive prices and quality merchandise. However, when I went in to purchase an ipod nano I was treated quite rudely. I had just finished cycling and came in to the store. I informed the rep serving that area of my intent to purchase the item. I was told that he didn't have the key to the cabinet and directed me to speak to another rep. The other rep also said he didn't have the keys and went with me to the first rep who stood watching me and without apologising produced the key.
Another gentleman was waiting and I guess he was better dressed because they served him first even though I was ahead of him. Frustrated I went to go pay at the front cashier,
but was told to wait because I would have to be escorted...Escorted??? I am very distressed to see that discrimination is a problem at a fine store like Best Buy. I worked very hard to save for that purchase and should have been treated fairly regardless of my appearance...
The staff I dealt with were rude and unprofessional. As a loyal customer I have always enjoyed my experience at Best Buy.. I find it very disappointing to see there are staff who do not respect their customers and ruin the store's reputation.
To add insult to injury I contacted their Customer Service on this incident and received no answer...
