As I moved into my new house I just took over the services of the previous house owner. UNFORTUNATELY! I had to call 3-4 times before they came and did the job the previous owners had paid for. And still they only did half the job that was paid for.
After almost 3 weeks and 3-4 calls they still haven't come to cut the grass but claim that they cut it a week ago. And will chargé us for the non-cut. The grass is 7ich tall and that is not a one-week growth.

Had hired Empire Yard Services (ka Empire Snow Removal, Light Kings) for weekly lawn maintenance. Did a so-so job. Toward the fall I noticed that many of our trees (5) were dying. Noticed that the bark around the bases of all of these trees was stripped circumferentially and the ones that weren't dying (bigger trees) had marks from a grass whipper (also on the lawn furniture). I had an arborist come by to confirm that the girdling around the trunks was the source of their demise (not cheap). Paul, the owner, became quite confrontational when I pointed out to him that his crew had killed 5 trees in my yard. He said he wanted to see if they came back next year. Well the trees never came back, and neither did Paul. He refused to answer multiple phone calls and would not take any responsibility for killing the trees. He was referred to the better business bureau. He refused to address the complaint and subsequetly lost his BBB accreditation as a result. Cost of replacing those trees is probably over a thousand dollars. Extremely dishonest, unprofessional, untrustworthy. There are many lawn care/snow removal/Chirstmas light hanging services out there. Avoid this one at all costs.

Philstein, I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience with Empire Yards and the previous owners. We purchased the company over a year ago, and we are committed to superior customer service with special attention to any customer concerns. Under the new ownership we are accredit with the BB and have an A+ rating.
