Mount View Glade is a nine-acre natural area in Davidson County. The natural area was acquired and then designated to protect one of five populations of the Tennessee coneflower (Echinacea tennesseensis).

Colditz Cove is a 165-acre natural area located approximately two miles east of Allardt in Fentress County. Its most impressive feature is Northrup Falls. This is one of Tennessee’s most stunning waterfalls plunging more than 60 feet over a protruding rock ledge into a scenic, narrow, gorge along Big Branch Creek.

Walker Branch is a 520-acre natural area located three miles south of Savannah in Hardin County.

Pogue Creek Canyon is a 3,000-acre natural area located on the northern Cumberland Plateau in Fentress County. It is contiguous to parts of Pickett State Forest and very near Pickett CCC Memorial State Park.

Sequatchie Cave is a 133-acre natural area located in Marion County. It is a biologically significant area located where Owen Spring Branch flows from the mouth of the cave at Sequatchie Cave Park. The Powell River Preserve is a 15-acre natural area located in Claiborne County bordering the Powell River.

Sherwood Forest is a 3,075-acre Designated State Natural Area located in Franklin County that protects the federally endangered Morefield’s Leather Flower (Clematis morefieldii) and the federally threatened painted snake coiled forest snail (Anguispira picta) in addition to several other state-listed plant and animal species.
