Use to go to Village Inn alot before the remodel. They were always busy with customers. We've gone a couple of times since the remodel. I'm not sure why, but both times, different times of the day, they didn’t have many customers. Tonight when we were seated, saw only 4 tables with customers. It took 15 minutes before our server came to the table to inquire if we needed drinks. I asked if she was the only waitress working and she said yes. She took our order and we waited about 30 minutes before it arrived. I know it wasn't her fault. Short of help. From previous reviews I see others have had the same problem.
I also noticed that cleanliness of the restaurant is lacking. It's had the same appearance on each time that we have been there in the past. The floors are dirty. They might sweep, but don't wet mop them often. There's also dust on the floor board trim around the walls and the cold air return is really gross. The built up dust on it looks to have been building up since the remodel. I wouldn't want to set at the table that's right under it. Could drop the dust particals on your food and drink.
Makes me wonder how dirty the kitchen is that prepares the food. They need to do some serious cleaning or hire a cleaning company on a regular basis.

I order delivery. As vegetarian, this one of the few places in town, I can eat at. Today’s order gave the impression of an angry cook, addition of broccoli to the garden omelette did not make up for the brown and gross avocado. The delivery was left outside my door with no notice. Luckily I finally found it. The iced latte was good.

Not the most attentive service, had to ask for things multiple times (table next to me did as well). I would understand if they were really busy but the waitress only had 2-3 tables she was serving at the time. Pie was good, food was good enough but for the price you can get the same thing or more at Hy-Vee.

Great brunch spot! Good options analogous to ihop, good prices, and very very tasty. Had Brooklyn as our server and she was incredibly inventive, friendly and on top of our needs. Excited to come back and try more of the menu!

Fast friendly service. Really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. There are many choices of seating to accommodate large or small parties. Child friendly.
Nice windows for outdoor viewing.
I look forward to dining here again.
