I am beyond disappointed with both the agency and Selective Insurance. The entire experience has been frustrating, unprofessional, and frankly, abusive.
When I first requested a quote, I clearly explained the type of work I do, the number of vehicles, staff, and payroll. Despite that, the audit one year later revealed a long list of mistakes including misclassified work, added vehicles I don’t own, and incorrect payroll.
To make things worse, before the audit the insurance policy went up on prices with out an explanation. The agent could not give me an answer when I asked why. I do not have claims. I provided loss run from pass insurances. Then they added an extra vehicle to my policy one I don’t even own. I was charged a down payment and monthly premium for it. When I brought it to their attention, instead of fixing the issue or offering a refund, they suggested canceling the policy and moving me to another insurer without resolving any of the original problems.
I was never even given a result/letter of the audit. I received a large bill out of nowhere with no explanation. When I asked for documentation
/result for the audit and requested time to review it (a right I should have), I was told no even after I explained I was dealing with a family emergency and grieving the loss of two loved ones. The lack of empathy was shocking.
The audit included charges for subcontractors who have their own insurance, and even for employees already covered under my policy. When I asked the agency/agent to increase my payroll mid-policy, the agent only applied it to Workers’ Comp and failed to update the General Liability which later affected the audit results.
I’ve contacted Selective multiple times, and each time I was told someone would follow up no one did. Eventually, they said they couldn’t help and pushed me back to the agency. This kind of back-and-forth, lack of ownership, and complete disregard for customers is unacceptable.
All of my concerns are fully documented through emails, with clear evidence of the mistakes that were made. Despite this, no one has taken accountability. I’ve never encountered this level of negligence or disregard from any other insurance provider. The entire process has been mentally draining, financially burdensome, and deeply frustrating.
I’m sharing my experience to help others make informed decisions. No company should be allowed to operate with this level of carelessness and customers deserve far better treatment.

A company's truck that uses this insurance hits my vehicle in a parking lot, parked. But I'm the one who has to all the leg work to get my vehicle fixed.

A company with this insurance busted the back window of my car and they keep passing me back and forth cause I feel like they don't want to pay.
I have video evidence of what happened and if its not fixed soon ill be taking them to court.
Its sad that you can leave your car parked, have evidence and they still want to play games. Rain is coming and my car will be in even worse shape which they will pay also.

My cheap upstairs neighbor uses this insurance and apparently neither the resident nor this company can read. Our COA policy states that the residents insurance company is responsible for any damage inflicted on other residents, they went weeks without realizing their water heater was broken and the water was leaking into our water heater which caused ours to shut off. The closet where the heater is has damage which this "company" is pretending they don't have to pay. I gaurantee they spend a lot of days in court because they hardly seem real to me.
