This is about lab: The front desk person is super helpful and techs very knowledgeable. The results are available super quick. I will never use large lab like quest again and hardly any wait as walk in.

Other visits were good!!
But this time I didn’t get treated correctly!!
They game me a shot the didn’t do anything!!
She looked and saw what other doctors did but refused to assist!! I left the same way I came.

We had a wonderful experience at Ochsner Medical Center – West Bank Emergency Department. My daughter was seen very quickly, and everyone we interacted with was kind, friendly, and attentive.

I especially want to thank the doctor who cared for her. She was absolutely wonderful — so patient, compassionate, and sweet with my daughter. She made her feel comfortable and cared for, which meant so much to me as a mother.

We felt very well taken care of from the moment we arrived. I’m truly grateful to the entire team for making a stressful situation so much easier. Thank you for the excellent care! ❤️

I’m sharing this in the hope that it helps improve the experience for future patients.

I came to the ER with severe pain and worsening neurological symptoms related to a previous spinal cord injury. Those symptoms are frightening because they can signal a serious change.

Positives:

* The triage staff quickly got me a wheelchair after seeing how difficult it was for me to walk.
* The PA listened to my concerns, took time to discuss my symptoms, and contacted my neurosurgeon.

Areas for improvement:

* No one introduced themselves except the PA after I asked.
* Despite reporting pain well above 10/10, I was placed in a room with a chair instead of a bed and waited nearly two hours in tears before receiving pain medication.
* My discharge experience was disappointing. After being told my ride needed to come inside because I had received pain medication, I was expected to walk out while dizzy, feet tingling, and in pain. The nurse walked far ahead as I struggled behind her, supported by my 77-year-old mother. A wheelchair wasn’t offered until I said, “I guess there’s no wheelchairs available” and we were almost at the exit. Then the nurse pushed one to me as if she was expecting my mother to push me out.
- The nurse handed me the discharge papers with no discussion at all as I was leaving out. She didn’t even have me to look over them and see if I had any questions…nothing at all…just handed them to me. Included in the documents it says, “Patient acknowledged that Discharge Instructions and AVS were given and explained and expressed understanding, with all questions answered to our satisfaction”.

When you’re already scared that your symptoms could mean further spinal cord damage, compassion matters. I don’t go to the ER unless I truly feel that I need to—my copay alone makes sure of that. Kindness, patience, and basic courtesy cost nothing, and they can make all the difference for patients who are already hurting and afraid.

2 stars only because the PA-C Ciarra Gilbert was absolutely amazing and so gentle with my broken ankle injury.

I have no complaints about her or the young man who took me to receive my XRay. I wish I remembered his name but he was very patient and nice.

Now the nurse or doctor, I’m not sure which one she is, named MALLORIE (or possibly spelled Mallory) was absolutely terrible. First she made me help her to put my own splint on my broken ankle after I had already told them I broke it by falling off the stairs on my back. I was in so much pain trying to help her put it on and my hand accidentally slipped and she then continued to say “you’re not helping me at all” as if that was my job anyway. After that she gave me crutches. I told her I never used them before and at my first try I started to fall over and she literally let me fall on my broken ankle. No help to get me up only a deep sigh of breath as if I was annoying her as she watched me cry in pain. Terrible.

I will never understand these type of people working in healthcare and I am not done with the reporting of this type of manner as no one deserves this type of treatment. As a black woman the amount of times I have had to literally suffer in front of these doctors while being in the hospital while in their care is ridiculous. They don’t take our pain serious.

I have multiple sclerosis also and even that took me 3 PCPs and 5 plus emergency visits to get diagnosed because doctors only wanted to give me Tylenol and send me home. I am fed up. I will be using the platform I fortunately have online to tell more people about my experience. People like her need to be known about. If she is the person taking care of you here at OMC- Westbank….. RUN.
