The service was great! We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, and while it came with tortilla chips, it was my first time having it that way—personally, I felt the chips overpowered the flavor of the spinach dip, but that’s just a preference. The BBQ wings were delicious as always, and the country-fried steak was really good. Loved the mashed potatoes, too—super tasty and a piece of carrot cake to go.. Overall, I definitely recommend this lovely local spot!

I am severely disappointed with the quality food I just received. I ordered a $20+ black bean burger with vegan cheese and received no cheese so it’s an average dry sandwich not to mention the Mac and cheese was super dry and had no flavor whatsoever. Mash potatoes are below or at average. Quinoa chili has different fritters that very much do not enjoy. The chili itself was decent but nothing special. This used to be a place I would treat myself to as a vegan but now I would just feel stupid if I spent that amount of money for this sub par meal. Sucks to see a good restaurant lose their touch.

We were driving through Chicago and obviously they have tons of vegan places to choose, from but we went with this iconic “meat free since 83” diner that looked very intriguing and there was an abundance of vegan things to choose from. 🥳

We actually went twice but the first time we got the Thai chili wings, which were phenomenal, the best ever seitan wings we’ve ever had. We also got the Reuben, Club and the Monte Cristo sandwiches, which were all banging! Mac and cheese too, vegan. We also got the chicken fried steak and cocktails, which were all delicious! 😋

11/10, we will be back again one day!! 💯

Love the ambience and interior design of the place, looks very 70’s but was opened in the 80’s. Even if I’m not 100% vegetarian or vegan, they many options for this kind of diet. I ordered the lentil loaf with mushrooms which is the favorite plate in the menu. Flavors was good but I would say that the texture of the loaf could be better. Having a little more of crunchiness outside in that way, you could feel better the softness

Hands down the BEST vegan Reuben I have ever had. Everything about it was just wonderful. I also got the Thai chili wings as an appetizer and they were so delicious! The country fried steak was also very good and hearty. Parking is available in the back after 6 pm, but otherwise it is street parking. They also have breakfast items till 3 pm. Soo delicious and the Reuben is a must have!
