BUY LOCAL from a terrific restaurant: We enjoyed some burgers, onion rings and fries. And a shake. The food ready on time and was very very good. Perfectly cooked. Not greasy. Tons of flavour. Better than any of those chains. Way better. Beef Burgers were so so good. Staff were professional and polite. Diner was very clean. Excellent value from a local business. Help support our local community.

Hands down the best restaurant burger I have ever had, peach milkshake is killer as well.
Highly highly recommend this burger joint.
Were from 3 hrs away, but would be worth the trip imo.
Locals definitely support this buisness and keep them around please a true gem.

Great burger. The bun is soooo good. The patty is juicy and amazingly delicious.
My kids had a junior burger, a hot dog sandwich and chicken fingers with fries. All the food was so yummy. The best burger I’ve ever had

Historic appeal...long time in business.

Taken me way too long to do his review. We save this place for extra special times when we need a real treat. It is one one of the ultimate top burger places in Ottawa.

The burgers are what you would probably dream a burger should be. The shakes are best I can remember of any I've had. And you get the large straws.

The interior area is of course old and somewhat "rustic" or some might say dingy. Overall though, for such an old building, it is clean. Staff is friendly and get the orders out in good time. We came at a relative lull. I understand there are super hopping times that may cause a lot of delays. It's right by a school...you know the teens, eh. 🫠

A great place to spend your money and have a memorable meal.

My friends and I were on our way to the farm for a day of horseback riding and decided to stop for a quick lunch at Burgers and Shakes. We had heard good things, but what we experienced went above and beyond anything we expected.

From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean and inviting the place looked. The décor is simple but modern, with a cozy vibe that makes you want to sit down and stay a while. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and friendly attitudes, and the owner — what an incredible gentleman. He welcomed us like we were regulars and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. His hospitality alone deserves a standing ovation.

Now let’s talk about the food. Wow. The burgers here are massive. These aren’t your standard fast-food patties — they’re thick, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. You can taste the quality in every single bite. It’s clear they’re using top-tier meat, and the difference is undeniable. The toppings were crisp and fresh, from the lettuce and tomatoes to the onions and pickles — everything tasted like it had just been prepared.

The fries were golden, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. And the onion rings? Crunchy, flavorful, and not greasy at all — probably the best I've had in years.

Then came the milkshakes… absolutely heavenly. Thick, creamy, and packed with flavor, they really do have the best shakes in town. They’ve got a fantastic selection that’s just as high-quality as the rest of their menu.
