Allen and his co-worker are incredible. I was without my car for 3 months. I was honestly unhopeful it could be fixed because it's had issues since I'd gotten it a few months ago. I got it back 2 days ago. Since I've driven it it's run smooth as silk. Turned on my heat and defroster and no issues. No more shaking or running hot. And they are honest about their prices not out to rob people in these times especially. I cannot thank them enough in giving me my life back. My honey had a kidney transplant so it's imperative we have transportation for local runs like his labs, doctors appointments, grocery store runs, and to go to the laundromat. They are a blessing! 💯

Had a great experience with these folks. They were patient with me despite my own shortcomings in the attitude department, and treated me well through the entire experience. Dropped my car off at 9am and had it back by 1:30pm, and the work was very affordable. Its really nice to have a shop that is professional, quick, affordable, and good at what they do. The facts: Assured Auto said, "You have until Friday to pick it up." Your receptionist knew I had the keys. I told her. I asked should I have left the keys in the car and risked a. break in?
No. No sane car owner would have left their keys in the car in Benton Harbor and risked getting it stolen.
More facts: I came Tuesday night to pick it, 3 days left until Friday. Basic Math. Police informed me later that night YOU HAD IT TOWED. Despite telling me I had until Friday. THANK YOU FOR LYING TO ME> I paid $150 to take it out of the tow. and the same problem persists. You should have fixed it right the first time and not try to blame others for not fixing the car right. That is why you are the experts.

I had to pay $150 right before Christmas to the tow company. HAD TO TELL MY CHILDREN THERE IS NO CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR B/C I HAD TO PAY ALL THE MONEY TO A TOW. NO BUNK BED. THEY SLEEP ON THE FLOOR.

Had my car at Assured Auto for a key repair. They claimed it was fixed, but it wasn’t. Then they TOWED my car before the agreed deadline without telling me. I came by to pick it up and thought it had been stolen since it was after hours. The staff knew I would be coming by late. Called the police, was told it had been towed, and I had to pay for the tow myself. The key still got stuck in the ignition, adding even more hassle. Poor communication, ineffective repair, and extra expenses—would NOT recommend.

I was on my way to Ann Arbor for Christmas. It was 15 degrees and snowing when the car broke. Assured Auto Repair made sure I was up and back on the road within 15 minutes of me getting there. Kind-hearted people. God bless them.

Traveling through for a camping trip and power steering started to go out. Sarah advised they were fairly busy and they might not be able to get me in same day and even gave me other options in the area. In the end, they were able to diagnose and fix in less than a day; back on the road home by Sunday. Saved my behind and looking at all the other positive reviews, a bunch of others as well. If I lived in Benton Harbor, I wouldn't go anywhere else! Cheers 🤝

Absolutely amazing people!! I'm visiting family and noticed a puddle under my car this morning. Google searched for mechanic shop. Assured popped up had great reviews so I called. They understood I was leaving in the morning and got me right in. They fixed the leak and didn't charge an extravagant amount. I can't thank them enough for the grace and kindness they showed me. Bonus I got to meet their two sons and cute fur baby. A very helpful welcoming business I highly recommend.

I'm in the area for outage work and after an 11 hour drive i needed to find an auto place, i don't like big chain tire places, they don't tend to treat my car kindly (it may be older but I LOVE this car.). So I was looking for a family owned shop with good reviews. That pointed me towards Assured Auto Repair.
Alan was great, I called less than an hour before close from work, told him I needed a severe leak from my rim looked at and I was 25 minutes away, he immediately said to come on over, no hesitation. My issue ended up being more intensive than anticipated but since I'm over prepared, I happened to have a spare rim in my backseat. It was definitely past close at that point but he was fantastic and got my rims swapped out and seated right. It's been a couple days and no leaks.
Him and his family were also great fun to talk to, made the experience even better.

Was driving through Benton Harbor on a road trip and stopped to charge nearby and noticed a dragging sound from the undercarriage. Taking a quick peek underneath confirmed that my splash shield had come loose. I looked up nearby auto shops with good reviews and ended up here.
They offered to squeeze me in right away, and had a great chat at the front desk and the sweet kids while they quickly repaired the issue.
They also complimented my ride and provided a few additional helpful tips about the new to me car! When it was all repaired and I went to pay, they refused to accept any payment despite me strongly insisting.
What a gem of a place, my only regret is that I live 2.5 hours away otherwise they would have had a customer for life. Thanks for me getting me back on the road quickly!

This honest shop helped out someone that I respect immensely. I love to travel, but one of the scariest things that can happen is when your vehicle can't get you home. My truck was in dire need of help. I had been stranded twice. Auto Zone told me to bring it to Assured Auto Repair. I am so glad I did. Had to get a new battery and alternator. They got me in right away! Price was very reasonable. I'm back on the road again.

I was traveling for work when my tire pressure suddenly dropped, so I pulled off to see if this family-owned shop had an air compressor I could borrow. Not only did they kindly take a look—they pulled my car to the back, found a screw in the tire, removed it, patched it, and filled it up for me! They even let me know I’d need new tires in the next couple of weeks so I could stay safe on the road.

While I waited, I had the absolute joy of chatting with their two sweet sons and learning some awesome facts about dinosaurs I’d never heard before. What an amazing family and an even more amazing experience. I’m so grateful I ended up here—honest, kind, and hardworking people. I pray that God continues to bless their small business!

My girlfriend was driving our car and the low oil light came on and she ended up at Assured Auto Repair. They made her feel safe and comfortable so she could calm her nerves. The car had a bad day but we ended up feeling well taken care of. I’m glad she ended up there!

We had an emergency flat tire on our Truck passing through Benton Harbor. We came at this place without appointment Mr. Allen was very kind to take care of our tire immediately. We waited in his waiting area clean, nice and cool with AC going on. He was very professional and he was done less than 20 minutes and didn’t charge us anything. We highly recommend this place for your repairs they are professional and honest.

I came in on Friday at 4:50 with a low tire after traveling from the Detroit area with my school's robotics team. The owner came out to help fill our tire and then found the reason, a sheet metal screw right! He quickly removed and plugged the tire and filled it back up. After he was done I asked him how much and he said he likes keeping people on the road. We threw him some cash for dinner and drinks but you could tell he was 100% genuine with helping. We need more people like the owner of Assured!

I didn’t know that John is now a silent partner until after the fact. I took my car there Wednesday 10/25/23 @7:30 am they didn’t start on it until almost 5pm when i got there. The receptionist told me it would be done by closing 5pm they hadn’t even started it.They wanted me to come back the following day. I insisted that they finish it right away. They billed me for 1.5 hrs when they only took 30 mins. I went up there to talk to manager about the charges he was trying to justify it. He didn’t refund any of my money. That shop is VERY DISHONEST. I will find another shop to go to. John’s reputation and shop WAS known for being honest has turned into to a place where customers are being cheated! Its a shame!!!

Just FYI don't expect the same exceptional service that John and his son was providing. I don't believe they are working here anymore and may have retired. Now I wasn't aware until now after I drop my vehicle off. Usually John would be upfront about any charges if there is one. So from the new owners or part owners supposedly have signs posted on charges as such. Which half of John's regulars have no clue of the change til you come and pick up your vehicle. UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!
AS A RESPONSE TO THE OWNER WHOM POSTING AFTER CALLING MY HUSBAND TO PICK UP MY CAR with an attitude. Keep referring to John John know us well he has been repairing our cars for over 15yrs. Now I come to pick up my car this Man the so called owner is very rude he tossed my keys to me and walked out. Asked the desk clerk what his name was she responded the Owner that doesn't have a name. 1st off Owner guy John would have told us from Jump that he would have to do a diagnostic test to find out what is wrong . John has a relationship with his customers that you need to work on as far as business goes you need to work on your attitude me and my husband has referred many customers to John over the years and never to now its been a problem. When I was there u could have addressed this issue but you didn't. For the record niw I will share thus experience with those I referred and will share with my social family. Have a blessed day!!! NOPE IM NOT GONNA DO IT. Change your ways Owner Guy.
