Dishonest, Unprofessional, and Unsanitary

I saw Dr. Debbie, and she didn't wear gloves to do a finger-prick test and didn't wipe the area with alcohol, saying it would cause the test to not work properly, but if there is a test where you have to do a needle prick without proper sanitation, that test should not exist. Patient safety should be the first priority. My husband is trained as a nurse and he agreed that was not standard practice and not safe, even for the doctor! She didn't even wash her hands before trying to prick my finger with her bare hands. She only put on gloves when I requested she prick my foot instead of my finger, but still didn't wash her hands.

The clinic also had a dog just walking all around the clinic. The floor was dirty and there was a dog chew toy on the floor of the exam room. Completely unsanitary and unprofessional.

I did a discovery call with Dr. Debbie and she completely misled me about her treatment plan, as she told me that she could accommodate my diet restrictions and plant-based lifestyle, but when I arrived to the full appointment, which cost over $300, she started telling me that it would be "difficult" to help me with this if I didn't change and eat the foods I already know cause me chronic pain and immune flare ups, like diary and oils.

For example, I told her that eating high-fat foods like nuts or oil makes my symptoms worse, so I have removed those from my diet and she kept telling me olive oil is healthy, and I need to have "enough fat", just completely not listening to my experience at all.

I have been vegetarian for years and she went on and on about how people get sick being vegetarian after 10 years, and it's not possible to stay healthy without eating meat. I am a scientist and have read numerous NIH-funded peer-reviewed studies in scientific journals showing this is not true, but she didn't seem to have any knowledge of actual scientific data.

It would be one thing to just be wrong about the scientific data, but the fact that she lied to me to get me into the clinic and pay for this expensive appointment is inexcusable for a medical professional. If she had told me her opinion in the first place, I would have chosen a different doctor.

Obviously, I do not ever plan to return to this clinic.

I’ve had a great experience at Naturopathic Living Medical Solutions in Markham. I’ve gone for chiropractic, acupuncture, and naturopathic care, and every visit has been positive. The doctors are kind, knowledgeable, and really take the time to listen and explain things clearly.

The clinic is always clean, and the staff are warm, attentive, and welcoming. I felt better even after my first visit, which gave me a lot of confidence in their care. I’ve continued going regularly and have been very happy with the support and treatment I’ve received. Highly recommend to anyone looking for professional and compassionate care.

I’ve had such a positive experience with Dr. Debbie Smrz and can’t recommend her enough. She has truly helped me feel like myself again by creating a personalized plan focused on improving my energy and overall physical health.

She is incredibly friendly, approachable, and always takes the time to answer any questions I have, which makes me feel supported and confident in my care. After just a few months, I’ve already noticed a significant difference in how I feel day to day.

Dr. Debbie Smrz has treated me for the last 10 years. I developed a terminal lung disease after breast cancer treatments and she recommended I buy the NanoVi machine to assist in my health and it gave me back my lifeforce. I have been stable for a year now. She has been so helpful with all my health challenges including breast cancer. I am so grateful to her and check in every 6 months to ensure I'm on track.

I received so much info from Debbie during my first appointment. I have been unwell for a while now, and all the doctors I have seen have summed up my being unwell to dehydration and anxiety and suggested meds. Well let me tell you! Debbie told me otherwise.
Debbie did a blood analysis and showed me what my blood looked like under a microscope, and from this she gave me some tinctures and tablets to start taking based off what my blood cells showed her.
I am hopeful that I am on the right path to my healing.

I recently visited Dr. Chan and had a truly wonderful experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff at the front desk were fantastic—super friendly, professional, and incredibly accommodating. They made the entire check-in process smooth and stress-free.

The chiropractor was equally amazing—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my well-being. I felt comfortable throughout the session, and they took the time to explain everything in detail, making sure I understood the treatment plan.

Came to this clinic after being referred by a friend…and it was a great experience. The staff (doctors) are really nice and friendly and the receptionist was super nice and accommodating! I had to reschedule and she was super helpful in finding me a new apt. Def recommend coming here if you can!

Naturopathic Living has changed the way I think about my health and healthcare.
I just wanted someone to do a thorough assessment, and then tell me what I need, instead of me constantly digging for information which is how I feel with my medical doctor. I love that I know I’m being fully looked after, it's very easy to communicate with the doctors via email after the appointment if I need clarification on anything. I’ve seen a few people there - for naturopathic, chiropractic and acupuncture care - and love them all. They also offer direct billing to insurance which is awesome.
I’ve also started using the wellness studio devices (BrainTap, Bemer and NanoVi) and have noticed that my sleep and energy have improved a lot. Love that they also offer Red Light as it's helped me with my acne and skin. Highly recommend, I'm so grateful for the Natliving Team for helping me with my journey to better health and wellness!

Dr. Naomi Ha was recommended by a client of my husband who was experiencing the same menopausal symptoms that was impacting my daily life - fatigue, hot flashes, weight gain, brain fog, etc. She had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ha. I immediately made an appointment and she was not wrong! Dr. Ha gave a thorough examination of mind, body and spirit. Her analysis of my bloodwork was the most thorough I have ever received by any physician or specialist. She made me understand my body, what and why it was doing what it was doing and developed a comprehensive plan with my personal goals at the forefront. Her plan made sense not only for my body and symptoms but also my long term goals and current lifestyle. I am feeling more like my former self, understand my body and how to move with it as I embrace menopause. Each time I met with Dr. Ha whether in-person or virtually, she was caring, concerned and very professional. She took time to answer any questions and make me feel comfortable (especially when I have IV treatment - a little nervous when getting a needle). Her treatments have made a huge difference in my life. I am forever thankful.

I have been seeing Dr. Naomi Ha for Naturopathic services for close to four years. I cannot say enough good things about her and how highly I recommend her. I’ve seen her for supplement/wellness consultation, regular acupuncture and for her amazing acupuncture facials, which are a must.

She really cares and takes the time to talk to you and get to the root problem. I’ve never felt rushed, or that she was in a hurry. She also takes the time to write back to my email questions in between appointments - which is so appreciated.

She’s extremely accommodating with days and times for her patients, and even went out of her way to meet with me very early in the morning once. I love that she’s available either in person or virtually, which is really helpful.

Prior to seeing Dr. Naom, I went through a lot of naturopaths, but I’m happy to say I haven’t had to see anyone else after seeing her. If you are looking for someone who cares about their patients and wants to help you live a healthy long life you need to make an appointment ASAP.

This place deserves so many more 5 stars!! Dr. Debbie is absolutely wonderful, she listens and makes a great plan that we work on together. I’ve referred all my friends and family here and I can’t say enough good things. Everyone I’ve referred has had an equally great experience. I don’t feel that Dr. Debbie pushes product, which I’ve had issues with at other places, but instead just suggests things to enhance my results. She does things in steps and it doesn’t feel overwhelming.
Dr. Naomi has done a bunch of my injections and she is pleasant and friendly.
Evelyn at the front desk is always a pleasure to deal with & well organized.
Bonus shout out to Zorro the dog for being so cute! :)
