Signed here on April 20th of this year with my girlfriend, we did not officially move in until may 1st. Since being here, we’ve experienced plenty of the poorly maintained community. For starters we started receiving noise complaints from our neighbor after about a month of living here, each time we pleaded with leasing to come listen in our unit, leasing manager Michael(no longer here thankfully) had expressed he wanted nothing to do with coming to our unit or any investigation as to where it’s coming from. It was not until 2-4 more complaints came in that he knocked on our door to listen to the noise at 8:45-9:00am, we were not up yet. When we got the door, he immediately asked if I had turned anything off, realized it wasn’t us, went to the balcony and heard who it actually was. Never received an apology and not sure if prior noise complaints came off the record. The next issue at hand, whoever deals with garbage, whether it’s third-party source or maintenance, the trash rooms are always packed, and sometimes can not open the door fully, and it’ll sit there for weeks at time. Majority of entry doors and the area outside around it constantly smell of dog pee, enough to make your eyes water, also you’re lucky if said entry doors work even. And the final thing which is the most irritating thing, The pool. Since we have moved here the pool has been closed a total of 89 days out of 144 days, during one of the hottest summers on record. Right now the pool has been closed since 7/13/26, it’s has been 61 days and counting at the time of writing this and the pool being a quarter drained, the hot tub has not been “hot” since the first weekend of may, they might as well advertise pool and polar plunge instead of hot tub. They have no security that patrols it while the pool is open so anyone can jump the back fence and blend in during the day, and only once after closing hours(10A-10P) which is typically at 10-10:15pm. They should’ve had a pool contractor out to fix everything with the pool instead of using the 2 maintenance men that have to also work in all the apartments which is about 300units. And the Leasing manager had expressed that the pool would be open by the end of this week on Wednesday 9/9/26, and it is still not open. The office has sent out maybe three updates in the timeframe that the pool has been closed for 61+ days. Picture of the pool today is the non green one
And the leasing office will be randomly closed with no notice of them being closed.

Update heading into our 4th lease cycle: We still absolutely love our specific B3 corner unit (10/10 layout, insane light, mountain views, huge balcony), but the overall resident experience has dropped from a solid 4 to a 3.

The unit itself is the main reason we are staying, because corporate-level upkeep has seriously slipped.

The infrastructure issues are getting ridiculous. Out of 8 EV chargers, only 1 actually works. The other 7 had their cables cut for copper wire and they've been left completely broken for almost our entire lease cycle.

My partner drives an EV and relies on these, so it’s been a massive, unreliable headache.

On top of that, the electronic lock on the *main leasing office door* has been broken for over 9 months. Guests and delivery drivers can't use the callbox after hours, so we have to walk down to let them in. The main entrance of a "luxury" building being broken for nearly a year is wildddd.

Some of our original complaints are still completely ignored too. They never repainted our baseboards from a first-week toilet flood. The complex charges residents pet rent but isn't actually pet-friendly—there is barely any grass, the pet spa is a dirty neglected mess (we gave up and use our own tub for our pup now), and they only provide one outdoor waste station which has led to a major dog poop problem. The hot tub is also frequently down or filled with cloudy, dirty-looking water.

The Building 3 elevator is *finally* reliable though, which is a huge relief.

Most of the on-site team is also great. Sadie and Sharonda completely hold the leasing office down, and the maintenance crew is awesome! The new package lockers are also a massive upgrade that actually works smoothly.

Ultimately, we love our actual home, but property management needs to step up. Vendor excuses don't cut it when we pay this much rent. Vendor this, vendor that—we don't care. Get new vendors then?

The broken building 3 door and the EV charging cables need to be fixed immediately.

Original review (March 2023):

I love living here. This has been the favorite place I’ve lived so far, and definitely one of the sickest apartments of me and my partner’s 20s.

Why I love my unit:

6 oversized windows, corner unit, sunlight all year, tall ceilings, 2 walk-in closets, deep tub, no shared walls, unobstructed mountain views, and an oversized recessed balcony.

Why I love the complex:

Walkable to Stanley Marketplace, vet, and bus, sky lounge views, huge hot tub, big coworking lounge, close parking, and great value for the price.

Disgusting and disappointing don’t even scratch the surface. One star even feels too generous. My fiancé and I lived here for a year and a half and overall had a bad experience. Obviously everything is relative to your perspective and expectations, but I wanted to share our authentic experience. We moved in while this property was still Alexan at Westerly Creek back in October of 2024, that team was fantastic and responsive but then it got bought out and turned into The Hayes. When they took over there was an obvious decline in several areas and it ended in disappointment from all angles. Our unit faced the pool which on initial move in I thought would really nice, but we quickly realized it was anything but. Not only would people let their kids go to the pool unattended resulting in an exorbitant amount of noise, but I am also led to believe that they were not teaching them to get out when they needed to go to the bathroom. On several occasions the hot tub would be so cloudy you could not see to the bottom and various trash or random items would be left in the pool. Groups of adults would go sit in the hot tub, drink, play loud music, and have yelling volume conversations until well past the time the pool was open, many times on week nights which was taken seriously by the “courtesy patrol” for only about two weeks. Moving on to the trash situation because if you move here you will see a lot of that everywhere. The parking lot, entry ways, stair wells, internal hallways, and trash rooms will all always have trash laying around to some degree and the lack of trash cans throughout the community makes people even less responsible for throwing anything away. There have been at least 5 times over the course of us living here that the trash room itself was so full of trash, furniture, and other items that you could not make it to the shoots to throw a bag away. Not that it mattered because those would also be backed up due to the dumpsters being far too small for the amount of people living in these buildings. Outside of the looming presence of trash everywhere the odor in the hallways is enough to make you cough. Many people would leave bags out in the hallway all day despite the leasing office reminding them to only have trash out when the pick up would be coming by, resulting in the internal poorly ventilated hallways smelling like rotten food and dirty diapers. Don’t worry though you won’t be allowed to have any mats or decorations on your doors because that impacts the “aesthetics” of the apartment building. Moving to the outside of the building, you will immediately be greeted with the smell of dog urine and feces due to the majority of pet owners not picking up after their dogs with seemingly no consequences. I would like to believe if they kept the waste bags stocked that would change, but unfortunately I don’t think it will. I am also under the impression that safety is not number one here as we had several instances of people trying to get into our apartment (multiple times in the middle of the night) one of which the leasing office advise we should fill out a police report, which would have resulted in nothing happening because there was no actual entry from the person trying to get into our apartment. People also tend to leave exterior doors propped open with rocks. The doors in several buildings have been broken multiple times over our time there and reckless tenant have caused door glass to break four separate times on four separate doors. There is a reason there were 40+ empty units right before we moved and also the “new” property manager Michael who keeps responding to bad reviews has been here since August of 2025. Though these apartments may seem affordable it comes at the expense of careless tenants, a dirty property, and an overall disappointing living experience.

The management of this complex is amazing. Whatever things come up, they take the extra steps to be extra communicative and expedite their tenants needs to be resolved.

Sadie, who works at the very front desk is such a considerate and hard working advocate for the company, kindly greeting me when I pass the front desk and a intricate part of coordinating things with upper management, maintenance and even mail orchestrating to ensure I have a safe and comfortable home. I feel at peace knowing her and the entire management staff have my back and add to the warmth of a place I call home. I am proud to show my mom is home. :)

Also HOLY AMENITIES! This place has been an incredible place to live as I finished school and started my career in the medical field- from the office spaces for study and zoom to the huge, impressive gym to relaxing in the pool!

Nov 2025: It’s honestly really sad how downhill this property has gone since we moved in two years ago. Stairways dirty, carpets dirty inside, landscaping is awful. Hot tub jets work now but the heat doesn’t, the fireplace are outside hasn’t worked since before I moved in, clubhouse tvs don’t work, pool table cues broken, bathrooms dirty. Coffee machines barely ever working, water machine in the rooftop terrace broken for over 6 months now, wall next to it left visibly water damaged. Glass on the doors to the pool shattered for weeks now STILL. Glass & trash all over the pavement outside, oil stains on the pavement from them being allowed to do mechanic work in the cul-de-sac. Some of these people even throw their leftover oil in the creek that is already full of trash from the overflowing garbage from the dumpsters from our complex. Broke down cars over the lot- they’ll make you pay $60 for parking, $10 to 5280 to manage it, and then will literally manage no one. If someone parks in your carport that’s an extra $120 on TOP of the other parking fees, there’s no towing what so ever & they don’t manage it, so it just sucks to be you at that point. Call box on the buildings doesn’t work either. Blow dryer in the pet spa broken. Not to mention a dog sprayed poop all over the walls in there & it was like that for OVER A WEEK. There’s also been multiple weeks where a dog has pooped in the stairwell and it sits there, along with people letting their dogs poop on the sidewalk! Back sidewalk along the creek is overgrown, unkept- they’re saying it’s the construction project going on near part of the property (that will last until 2027) but that means they can’t cut the grass that lies before the ugly orange fence?? there was also a homeless guy living under the pass behind building 2 who runs an extension cord from the building into the creek and blasting the radio all night. Even has a light projector set up, heard him yelling profanities at residents the other day to “come make him be quiet.” I called security & and he was still there for a week until he wanted to leave. To top it off, I attached pictures of our mail room. There’s consistently theft of packages but this takes the cake. Literally no repercussions for this, no investigation, they just let this continue. So happy to be moving out of here in a couple months!!

EDIT: Michael is not new, he has been the leasing manager for 6 months now. BOTH doors to the clubhouse pool are now cracked, still haven’t been repaired. Added another picture of the BED BUG TENT covering an apartment & trash on the 1st floor of building 2. Do NOT LIVE HERE.
