Brunch at Piel Canela was amazing from start to finish.
The coffee had a lovely hint of Mexican home style flavor and with a nice biscuit to start.
We also had a smoothie and my boyfriend had a cocktail, I had the Lágrimas de Luna (raspberry, red beets, coconut, cranberry), which was super refreshing and balanced perfectly with my meal.
My boyfriend ordered the PabellĂłn de Mi Tierra, perfectly balanced with tender meat, beans, rice, plantain, avocado, and a runny egg a very comforting and homemade in taste.
I had the Chilaquiles del Sol, full of flavor and textures with red and green salsa, guacamole mousse, queso fresco, and a perfectly cooked egg. Very filling and delicious.
We also asked for an extra beef on the side, it was juicy, full of flavor, and perfectly seasoned with Mexican spices.
For dessert, we shared the La Doradita (kids size), which was the perfect sweet ending a soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, very filling, with sweet and spicy Mexican flavors.
Our server Jessica was amazing super kind, attentive, and truly elevated the experience with great customer service and thoughtful recommendations based on what we were looking for. Claire also had excellent customer service skills and was very kind.
Overall, a beautiful brunch spot to hang out with ur love ones, friends & kids with incredible food, music & service. 10/10

The experience was great !! We went for brunch.
We were 3, we all took an Abrazado Dulce. It was not too sweet, really delicious !
For the plates, we ordered a lomo limeño toast, a benedicta, and a dulce abuelita. Everything tasted amazing. I personnally ordered the dulce abuelita, I recommend 100%. The chocolate mousse on top is delicious and I love the different textures in the plate.
Highly recommend even though it’s a bit pricy for students

We were very lucky to get two seats at the bar right after walking in, because the wait time is usually pretty long, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. Normally I don’t like sitting at the bar, but it actually turned out to be a great experience and we had the waiter’s attention the whole time.
The ambiance and decor are very cozy and quite different from the usual brunch spots in town.
The menu is also unique and not your typical brunch menu, so you might want some recommendations from the waiter depending on your taste. I was looking for something sweet and sour, so I ordered the POLLITO & WAFFLES, and it was really delicious. The chicken was crispy, served with tasty veggies and sauce over the waffle. The portions were also generous and very filling.
Also, the menu on Google Maps seems to be outdated.
For coffee, I ordered the CAFE DE LA OLLA. It tasted really good, although it was a bit too sweet for my taste.
My friend ordered TESORO ESCONDIDO for drink and TOSTADA DEL PACIFICO, a toasted brioche with shrimp salad, which was really tasty.

Pier Canela has inventive, flavorful, and colorful dishes, and the French toast was delicious. The restaurant is nicely decorated, but I’d suggest sitting in the front area by the bar with natural light; the rear section is dark with deep wall colors that make it feel a bit heavy. Service needs a brush up. Our bartender was friendly but very slow, and the bread meant to accompany the huevos rancheros arrived 10 minutes after our plates, when we were practically done with the dish. Maybe sitting at a table instead of the bar would bring better service, though I’m not sure. Solid food, drinks, and atmosphere, but the pacing of service kept it at 3 stars.

The food was so good and authentic! we tried papas benditas and it was perfect, so we went after for something sweet with le pain doré, I loved the pineapple and passion fruit flavour on it! For drinks, pizco de coco with horchata was perfectly balanced, the abrazado dulce is very light I was expecting a stronger flavor but I guess with the touch or Oreo was ok. Nice atmosphere and good service!

The food was great! We loved the hot drinks with the cold weather outside, we wanted caffeine free and they delivered. The pistachio drink was amazing. Also loved the food and presentation. The flavors were very developed. Our server was also very kind despite being busy and pulled in various directions. Only complaint would be a bit slower service than expected. I would recommend and return!

I had an amazing brunch experience at Piel Canela on Saint-Denis in Montreal! From the moment I walked in, I loved the interior, the decoration, the way the tables are set, the cozy bar, every small detail is so well thought out. The restaurant is spotless, and the atmosphere is super warm and welcoming.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and kept checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed.
I ordered the Bagel San Pastor and honestly, it was perfect! The combination of feta cheese, grilled pineapple, crispy garlic, and smoked salmon was absolutely 100/100! I had the latté Satinado, it was good, though I wish the white chocolate flavor was a bit stronger.
And you can’t miss Pan De Muerto their famous homemade brioche, available only on weekends. So soft, flavourful and rich in orange blossom.
Overall, I highly recommend this resto if you’re looking for a cozy spot for brunch with great food, friendly service, and reasonable prices.

I saw all the great reviews online and I must say what a disappointment. The service was ok but nothing special. The drinks were good but I must say the cafe de olla was too sweet. However the food was cold and blend. The presentation was really nice so it was really upsetting to taste it and not to enjoy it at all. I actually let the server know that the food was cold and she didn’t do anything about it. It’s so frustrating to pay that much for what we got. Also the music was so loud that we couldn’t even hear each other. I must say that I was so disappointed that I won’t go back.

The chilaquiles were truly exceptional, offering a delightful combination of flavors and textures. The pain doré was equally impressive, with its golden-brown crust and soft interior. I must say, the drinks were incredibly delicious, perfectly complementing the meal. It was a truly satisfying and enjoyable dining experience overall.

A friend recommended me to try there because according to her (she's Mexican), this place is authentic. I went for brunch. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a gentleman who invited me to sit by the bar. He then showed me the menu and answers some of the questions I had. I then tried their papas benditas which consisted of 2 potato "hashbrown" topped with eggs, pork belly and mushrooms, chimichuri and chimichuri cream. To my surprise, it was incredible! The pork was done to the point it was easily breakable. The potato and eggs complemented well the brunch and the mushrooms were delicious. This plate brought me happiness on this day of STM strike! Service was excellent (I even got to see him prepare food for the day haha!)! If I had a bigger appetite I would've tried more. I guess it'll be for a second visit!

This place was incredible! Food quality, drinks, food. Everything was so good. Karen was amazing! The drinks were out in like 2 minutes and food was out in 7. We ordered so many dishes and the bill came out to $100 for everything. Highly recommend. Quality so good! In the US where I am from this place beats out a lot of the places near us and we don't have as amazing and interesting of a brunch place. Will be back again!

Went for brunch with friends. The food was really good, and the service was amazing. The restaurant is also cute.
My only regret is that the portions were quite small for the price (with the exception of the Chilaquiles Piel Canela which was a decent side). Small sides included with the main dishes wouldn’t have hurt.

Everything was good. The bartender girl is so nice. The complexity of flavours hit the spot. I didn’t like the dessert that much, too many sweet ingredients combined, I would do a couple changes.

As you walk in you get a kind and welcoming environment along with service. The environment has a cool and fun athletic to it along with some cute comfy chairs, they also have a nice outdoor patio area.
The waitress is kind and brings a smile to your face.
Me and my family had the “MENU DÉGUSTATION” along with a few drinks.
.
Starting with the drinks, they are nice, refreshing, bright and layered with love. The bar tender shows attention to detail and makes sure to shower every drink love and affection without fail, the colours and taste are next level bringing a great start to every meal.
.
Next the food, the taste was amazing, they accommodated my all nut and shellfish allergy without a complaint and with care, everything we had from the soup that was soft and flavourful to the slow cooked meat that was rich and just so delicious words could not express the flavour melting on my tongue. It all had its own unique flavour and taste along with texture that just brought a whole new light to the food. If I could kiss the chef I would. The food opened my eyes to a different way of enjoying Mexican cuisine and put me on a roller coaster of emotions and flavours that made a wonderful meal for me and my family.
.
Lastly the dessert it was a soft and creamy dessert that was executed with care.
.
Every design and taste brought a new sensation to my mouth and there was no lack of attention to detail, everything had care and love to it. I will be coming back and I do recommend that if you have or haven’t been you come and try (or come back).

Claire was an amazing host, very welcoming and gave us an amazing experience and recommendations.
The food was at another level, the taste, presentation and atmosphere. We were very happy we found this place will visit again to try other things in the menu.
