So, I've been a customer for a year, since they were called Pool Troopers and as they switched over to Good Boy/were bought up.
I did like the service at the start, even got up at 8 am in the freezing cold to treat my aging pool guy with mulled wine and a hot saffron bun in December when it was cold out because I liked him, he was great, punctual, and knew his stuff.
Now, service has gotten sloppy, delayed, my guy who knew his stuff is gone, new guys are nice enough but showed up at random times and on different days. And the price has gone up.
Throughout the year, the pool guys sold us new things for the pool, like a timer with a winter temperature check, a pressure valve, a little thing here... a little thing there. Once they installed that timer, it burned out because the electric couldn't handle it? So now we had a big electricity bill and had to fix that, and the pools guys didn't care that what they just installed burned out a week later. We were SOL on that.
All of these things began to add up and now we realize we were spending a lot on these guys. The most recent was the suggestion that we needed a new inner motor for a pump, that would cost nearly 2K to replace.
We got a second and a third opinion, and ended up with a $400 dollar solution, and fired these guys on the spot. THEN GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? They auto charged us for yet another month. "Whoops, sorry!"
No, this is just too incompetent at this point. Don't go with these guys.
NOTE: all of the reviews here with 5 stars are from Florida!

My remove for nine months ago was for Pool Troopers, not Good Boy how bought Pool Troopers. Once that happened, the regular crew was gone and they weren't as efficient and didn't keep to the schedule they had for the past six months. They also swore i needed a new pool pump and their estimate was three times hire than another company who explained I didn't need a new pump at all. To top it all off, I canceled my service in July and even though they stopped coming, they still charged me for this month. Good luck getting them to answer an email or the phone. Buyer beware.

Please do not use this company and if you are you should stop. In three months they claimed we had three issues, that were expensive repairs. We paid the first two times, even though our pool was only 4 years old and had been maintained weekly. The third time we hired an independent pool repair company (they were not pool cleaners-they had no advantage) to assess the claim. There were no problems other than Pool Troopers (more like pool poopers) turned off the pump and drained the water. Our pool was green for two weeks.
We also consistently asked them not to leave the pool toys on the turf as the sun burns permanent marks into the green space via the inflatables. In three months they did it 4 times.
They aren’t to be trusted.

My pool was sitting, unusable for over a year. Gage did an absolutely fantastic job!! My pool was filled with river water and fish from the flood and by the time he was finished it looked better than new! He even caught and carried some fish back to the river! I would definitely recommend Pool Troopers to clean and service your pool. I got a cleaning and acid wash. Beautiful job!

Lawrence is great! The house behind us tragically had a massive fire which caused debris to get into the pool. He was clear with what he could do today to get the pool in working order and let me know that if there are any issues, to call and he will for sure come out and check on it. I am very grateful for his hard work and kindness.
