I took my dog to here because she was having stomach issues, and Dr. Samuel took great care of her. Everything was quick, the staff was very kind, and the price was better than expected. Great service!

Terrible doctor not sure the name. But had a different doctor then last time and the nurse she had with her almost killed our cat. Tried giving him a shot and damn near strangling him to death so tight her hands where shaking while holding him so unprofessional. Got the shot all over his fur and had to do a second one. Last time we had doctor mak with her nurse and she had no issue holding our cat correctly. You do not almost strangle a cat and pin them down to give them a shot. You hold them by the scruff not choke them out till your shaking yourself.. terrible job. Only recommended doctor is Dr.mak the rest just stay away from.

I have taken both my dogs to Hometown Vet and they were received promptly and with care. Dr Samuels is gentle with my scared girl and really made us feel comfortable and cared for.

The very first visit to Hometown Vet in Schaumburg was so satisfying & reassuring. Our 2 mixed-breed rescues are now 10 years old. We contacted Dr. Makofski about worrisome aging issues. They both needed numerous teeth removed & each have their own cognitive issues.

First, Dr. Makofski intently listened to our description of the problems with each one of our fur babies. Her assessment superpower is maintaining eye contact with each one of us as dog parents! She outlined all steps & aftercare of the surgeries, appropriately using humor to reassure us. Her “bedside manner” is impeccable.

Second, Dr. Makofski made it clear, in her explanation of treatment options & possible procedures, that we, as anxious dog parents, thoroughly understood the whys & what fors of everything. She was consistently patient & caring.

Third, Dr. Makofski gave us names of natural remedies (telling us where to purchase them) & later contacted us to inquire about any results we saw, making further suggestions.

Finally, in addition to Dr. Makofski’s professional TLC, EVERY staff member at Hometown Vet in Schaumburg showed special attention & care to our dogs! You can be certain that the professionals at this clinic won’t miss a single beat in giving excellent attention to your pets’ needs in sickness & in health.

I can’t say enough good things about this clinic. It’s neat and clean, great employees that are awesome with my animals. Dr.Makofskj is AMAZING! She is by far the BEST Vet I’ve ever had for my pets. She is very kind and compassionate and always goes the extra mile. Thank you Dr.Makofski!

This is not an emergency vet! They do not handle bad cuts on dog as I am sure it is the same with cats. I took my dog there after she had cut herself in the backyard pretty bad, they couldn't help and couldnt even recommend another place in the area. There are much better choices for urgent care in the area. This was just a waste of my time even though they state they handle cuts/emergencies on the website.

Amazing experience for my cats, both for preventative care and for urgent care. Today my kitten had surgery and it went great and her incision is beautiful. You can tell they love animals and that makes a huge difference.

I had an overall good experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. Dr Samuels was thorough and very good with my dog. We visited yesterday and my pup is already feeling better. The exam fee was more than what I am used to but normal for the area. I gave 4 stars only because the prescription price seemed a little high so I googled it when I got home and found it much cheaper with online retailers.
