Dr Farkas is hands down the most caring and personable doctor I have encountered. Receiving a diagnosis of cancer is a hard pill to swallow and she explained things in a knowledgeable but simple way. She shows care every step of the way and has a great sense of humor which is a breath of fresh air! The rest of the team - to include the front staff are also amazing and friendly!!

My name is Donna and I had a partial mastectomy 6 months ago performed by Dr. Rachel Farkas. I was so nervous. I couldn't believe this was happening to me but I need to write this review because if anyone can say it was a positive experience I can because of Dr. Farkas. She understood my fears and she really put me at ease making the whole experience very positive. No one wants to be diagnosed with breast cancer but I have to say if anyone I know ever is or anyone reading this I would recommend Dr. Farkas 1000%. Each time I've been to her office I feel like I'm talking with a really good friend and I feel like she really cares about me. Make an appointment with her. You won't be sorry.

Best of the best for reconstructive breast surgery. Dr Vega did my initial reconstruction in 2003 and has done a couple of revisions since. I have learned that reconstructing a radiated breast is quite difficult. From beginning to end each of my experiences with the practice, the surgical centers, and my recovery have been excellent. With an amazing aesthetic result! I trust Dr Vega and his team implicitly.

It’s not often that I leave reviews, but after my experience with Vega Plastic Surgery, I felt compelled to share.

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and initially planned to travel out of town for surgery for privacy. I sent my records to Vega Plastic Surgery and was scheduled to meet with oncology surgeon Dr. Rachel Farkas. She was absolutely wonderful—thorough, informative, compassionate, and genuinely “real” as she discussed my options and developed a treatment plan tailored to me. She spent over an hour with my fiancée and I, and I left that appointment feeling informed and supported. I’m saddened that this review may reflect negatively on her as well because she is deserving of 10 stars!

Next, I met with Danielle, Dr. Vega’s PA, for a history and physical prior to my consultation with Dr. Stephen Vega. As anyone facing breast cancer knows, the emotional and physical implications of treatment can be overwhelming. During this visit, Danielle immediately presented a photo album of reconstruction outcomes, which was extremely distressing and brought me to tears. While some may view reconstruction as an opportunity for change, I was grieving what I was about to lose. When I asked if there were options that might look and feel more natural, her response was that it would “look and feel like stretched skin over a plastic mound,” which only added to my fear and anxiety.

After scheduling surgery, I finally met with Dr. Vega just one week prior to the procedure. I had been hopeful that he would provide reassurance or discuss alternative reconstruction options. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. He entered the room appearing disengaged and asked, “What are you looking to do?”—which was surprising given this was my third visit and my surgery was already scheduled.

When I expressed my concerns after seeing the photos and asked about more natural outcomes, his response felt dismissive and discouraging. During the exam, he made comments that I perceived as insensitive, including stating that it was “fairytale thinking” to expect a normal appearance after a mastectomy and suggesting I consider a lumpectomy and radiation—contrary to the recommendation I had received from Dr. Farkas. He also questioned whether I liked my appearance prior to diagnosis and made remarks that felt judgmental and inappropriate given the situation.

It also became clear that there had been no meaningful communication between the surgeons regarding my case. After the appointment, I was left in shock. Later that day, Danielle called to say that Dr. Vega had changed the surgical plan, which only added to my confusion. I requested a direct call from him but never received one. Instead, two days before my scheduled surgery, I was contacted by a nurse practitioner I had never met, who, while kind, was not familiar with my case or the prior interactions.

Having worked in medicine and the operating room for over 26 years, I have never encountered a physician whose demeanor felt so lacking in compassion during such a vulnerable time. The experience left me feeling unsupported and rushed into a major decision under significant emotional pressure.

Ultimately, I made the difficult decision to cancel my surgery just two days before it was scheduled and quickly sought care with a new team. The difference was immediate—my new providers were compassionate, communicative, and reassuring.

I share this in the hope that it helps others make informed decisions during an already overwhelming time. I also sincerely hope that Dr. Farkas finds a surgical partner who reflects her level of professionalism and compassion.

I would like to note that the office staff, Amy and Melony, were both wonderful throughout my interactions.

I had a face lift on Feb. 10th, 2026. I was back to work after 2 weeks. I was so nervous because, well....it's my FACE! The recovery was easier than I thought and I was back to work after just 2 weeks. I actually had a co worker approach me the day after I was back and said "you are looking younger and younger. What are you doing?". Dr. Vega and all of his staff are phenomenal. I shopped around and price was the best. I am scheduled for lip filler for smoker's lines and a consult for eye lids and eye bags. I had attached my before and after. Good bye saggy neck and jowls.

I had the best experience with my first facial at Vega MedSpa. Aesthetician Aly was beyond excellent. I had the VIP Glow facial done and it was amazing.
