I had an amazing experience working with PathIvy during my transfer application process. The entire team was incredibly supportive, responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed, but I especially have to give a huge shoutout to Mike because he was an absolute rockstar throughout the entire process.

Mike was truly one of the most encouraging and positive counselors I’ve worked with. He constantly followed up, checked in, and made what could’ve been an extremely stressful process feel manageable and motivating instead. What I appreciated most was that he always balanced strategy with what I actually wanted at the end of the day. I never felt like I was being pushed into becoming some “perfect applicant” that didn’t reflect who I really was.

I’ve worked with admissions consulting services in the past where I sometimes felt pushed in directions that didn’t fully align with me, but PathIvy felt like such a breath of fresh air because the process felt collaborative and personal the entire time. Working with Kat at PathIvy made the college process feel a lot more clear and manageable. I am incredibly grateful for PathIvy's help in getting my son Vlad admitted to the best possible university.
We found PathIvy at a friend’ recommendation, after my son missed a couple of deadlines and didn’t bother with early decision, and we were already freaking out.
After the initial meetings with PathIvy counselor, where they established Vlad’s preferences/list of colleges, and recommended additional universities, it was pretty hands-off from parents’ side. The counselor worked with Vlad at every step to establish an architecture portfolio (something we didn’t even know it was necessary), and Leah helped him write the essays. producing high quality writing in every session (something he wouldn’t have been able to do by himself).
It was a condensed month and a half of hard work, all in the 11th hour, and ultimately, Vlad got accepted to one of the ‘reach’ choices.
PathIvy has great organization systems, documents and webinars to keep students informed and moving forward, even expressing continued interest in colleges that may not have accepted them from first try.
We are very happy with our decision to choose PathIvy; my only regret is not knowing about them earlier in the application process.

I had a very great experience with PathIvy and have zero complaints about anything. My counselor Kathryn was readily available and I feel that I got a lot from every meeting I had with her. She clearly cared about giving everyone the best advice possible and put in the work to ensure I was as well prepared for my applications as possible. She was also very understanding and never put an exorbitant amount of pressure on me. PathIvy gave me a much clearer path of what I needed to do to get into colleges and the webinars they host helped me understand the process better. The access to internships was very valuable and it gave me a lot of experience that I would not have had without PathIvy. I am currently 8/8 in college application acceptances and am in a much better position for my college applications and decisions because of Kathryn and PathIvy.

I started looking for a college counselor to assist me with my college applications back in August. I talked to eight different college counseling organizations and choosing Path Ivy was for sure the correct decision. I've been able to craft the personal statement that I desired through several meetings with Anson and was able to craft a great activity list through several meetings with Sophia. They were not only very helpful the whole way, but were genuinely caring as well and cared about making sure I get into the best college I can. We live in California (Bay Area) and PathIvy has been a godsend for our son who's a senior applying to colleges right now. PathIvy is outstanding at assigning the right counselors to a student, based on their unique profile and goals.

My son works with Laurens and his advice has been a gamechanger for him. Before we signed up with PathIvy, I was super-concerned that my son would find it hard to stay on track with writing essays and deciding on his application strategy. But it's been magical to see my son work closely with Laurens to produce high quality writing in every session. This has meant that - contrary to my fears - he's been well ahead of schedule in completing his college applications.

This has reduced our stress as parents, to a point that we now just trust that he'll work with Laurens to figure out which new college to apply to, how to position himself to that college, and what needs to happen to create a compelling application for that college.

PathIvy also strikes the balance of not being too small to have unique insights and not being too big to treat most students with a cookie cutter approach. They have great organization systems and webinars to keep students (and families) informed and moving forward. It is also quite clear that Vicky (the owner) truly cares about PathIvy students' outcomes in ways that the big college counseling firms clearly don't.

Overall, we are very happy with our decision to choose PathIvy. I am writing this in November 2025, and our son has already gotten into one college he loves (with a scholarship + Honors college) and he's consistently received feedback from counselors at his school that his essays and applications for other colleges are top notch. This would not have been possible without Laurens, Vicky, and the PathIvy team.
