We have been going here for a while and it is usually great, but we went this past Friday and had my baby grandson with us- it was so hot in there it was miserable almost unbearable - I spent almost $80 for 2 people and the portions were small and the small catfish fillets one was overcooked and one was undercooked, the hushpuppies were cold, and the sides were cold. My grandson had a dirty diaper and they don't have a changing table si we had ti drive ti a gas station. I was very disappointed in the whole meal; cost was too high, wait was too long and the food was just fine, not exceptional. Makes me sad...it will be a while before we go back:(

Austin's Bar B Que Restaurant is an amazing local barbeque joint in Addison, TX that is definitely a hidden gem. I met one of the co-owners, Valerie Austin, on July 3rd, 2026 when my family enjoyed dinner here before watching the Kaboom Town Airshow and Fireworks from the parking lot of the restaurant. She was super friendly and very welcoming to all the guests that made their way into the restaurant. The food was incredible! Every bite was savory, moist, and tasty. Each plate was filling and satisfying. Employees had great attitudes and were smiling even though it was busy due to the restaurant being one of the prime locations to watch the airshow and fireworks during Kaboom Town. The atmosphere of the restaurant was well lite and welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean and sanitary. I didn't even notice any smudges or dirt on the windows or the bay doors that can be opened at night or in cooler weather. This restaurant definitely deserves a 5 ⭐ rating and I highly recommend it to everyone who loves some down right excellent Texas Bar B Que!!
* They even have local live bands come out and play in the evenings at Austin's Bar B Que Restaurant!!

8/10 I got the chopped brisket plate with coleslaw and potato salad for sides and I would definitely recommend. The brisket was perfectly flavorful and smoky. When combined the the bbq sauce it added some sweetness that balanced well. The coleslaw was good but I think the 'sauce' is mayo based (some ppl love it some hate it) and the potato salad was outstandingly flavorful but not overwhelming.

We stopped by this well-known restaurant, and it truly lived up to the hype. The meats were perfectly tender, the mac and cheese was rich and comforting, and the fried okra was spot on. The owner and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They even treated us to a peach cobbler, which was such a nice touch. The owner invited us to come back the next day for live band music and joked we might be celebrating if I won an award. We would’ve loved to, but it was our last night in town.
In case you wondering.This teip was worth it! I placed 2nd out of 15 competitors in the facial massage category at The Skin Games.
Great food, great people. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

The food was good, I enjoyed everything I got, even though I do wish the side portions were a little bit larger. The brisket was good and not too dry, which is always a plus. My only complaint is I expected a lot better from the banana pudding, it seemed to just be made from a mix with a couple of cookies thrown on top rather than homemade complete with banana pieces inside, cookies throughout, and meringue or whip cream. As a banana pudding enjoyer it was very disheartening to receive. Otherwise, everything was good, just avoid the banana pudding if you're expecting something beyond pudding mix.
