We have been here 2 times as per primary doctor and urgent care recommendation and both times were bad experiences. Each time we’ve brought our infant son, he has gotten sick with something else from having to wait in this waiting room. Most recent visit, we waited about 4 hours before being brought back. KOP urgent care called ahead saying we would be bringing our son for respiratory distress. The waiting room was packed with barely any seats available. Since my son’s pulse ox had stabilized from leaving urgent care (thank goodness. I knew we would have to wait). I had asked if we could wait in the car so he wouldn’t catch something else being so young and was told “no. Once you’re in our care you can’t leave” which I thought was odd since I work in another hospital network and have never heard this. Not only did we have to wait so long, I am also pregnant with twins and had to stand a majority of the wait. Also to add, my son is now sick with pink eye which he caught from there as there was another kid running around with it touching everything and not a single staff member wiped anything down. So not only was the waiting experience awful and my son got sick with something else (2nd time this happened here), we were admitted and discharged next day with barely any explanation on how or what to do next. We were just told “if he worsens come back.” To also add, our room was 80 degrees on the floor and it took practically the whole day for them to get it fixed with an infant that was already having trouble breathing. All I can say is - disgusting, disturbing and subpar healthcare. By far the worse experience I’ve ever had.

I took my son here because he was having breathing issues. The facility was pretty clean, and the staff members we dealt with were friendly. I also appreciate that they now have security, which made the environment feel more organized and secure.

The biggest downside was the wait time. Every time I’ve been here, the wait has been very long, which is difficult when you’re bringing in a child who isn’t feeling well.

Overall, the staff and cleanliness were good, but the long wait times are the main reason I’m giving a lower rating.

We had a wonderful experience at KOP CHOP. My son had a deep cut on his forehead that required a double layer of stiches. The triage nurses were so caring and considerate. They talked him through everything they were going to do and checked on him in the waiting room. When we were brough back the nurse was very attentive. The Child Life specialist, Sam, was incredible--she explained everything that was going to happen to him in a way he could understand using a doll and sample stitches. We were offered drinks from the Wawa cart and my son was given Legos to play with and movies to watch. The doctor was so patient and caring as my son was very anxious and screamed quite a bit during the stitching process. I highly recommend KOP CHOP it is worth the further drive for their child centered approach.

Had a very positive experience at the KOP CHOP emergency and surgery dept. Wish all hospitals, including those for adults, were like this one - caring, competent, professional staff, nurses, surgeons, who all seem like they truly want to be there.

It was quiet when we were there (partly because we managed to be there at the tail end of flu and cold season), plenty of parking, coffee in the waiting room, excellent (reasonably priced) deli sandwich from the food court.

This is the greatest experience I have ever had in an ER setting. We were sent over by our CHOP on call after a scary experience at home. We were greeted right away (warmly) by intake and taken back. My son was told at 9:09 he could have a popsicle and at 9:09 on the dot his nurse (Emma) was there-popsicle in hand! She was playful with him and really kept his spirit up. My sons NP was Morgan and she was AMAZING. I had ZERO questions during his exam and after, and she ensured that my husband and I understood everything before we left. Emma and Morgan have definitely picked the right field to be in and I was for sure grateful for them last night. My son was really scared when he heard "hospital" but he was laughing, jumping and honestly I think he had a fun experience-or as fun as it could get. I hope they see this-thank you for making it a little easier for us all to breathe.
