This is a wonderful coffee shop. Delicious coffee and lovely relaxed interior. However, it seems some of the staff are unhappy and stressed. I can ignore it, but it’s unpleasant, unnecessary and unprofessional when you see it happen to customers.

Very cute and cozy coffee shop. Their breakfast sandwich is great! Lattee is amazing. Nice little neighborhood gem

Great café with a cool and cozy vibe. I tried the maple cinnamon latte with a carrot muffin, and both were excellent. The latte had a really nice balance of sweetness and spice, and the muffin was fresh and flavorful.

The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere makes it a great place to relax or get some work done. Definitely a spot I’d come back to

There are THREE Dineens on Bay St now.

This is the original location, such cool aesthetic design. Small space but always that good closing Bay St energy.

Great patio in the summer.

Main floor restroom a bonus.

Is this the best Dineen location?

I’m not sure, but it is for me.

Is this the best Bay st. Adjacent spot to close the deal over a Cortado after lunch at Sud Forno?

I’m not sure, but it is for me.

In this one of the most aesthetic delight per-square-foot cafes on Yonge with Carrot Cake?

I’m not sure, but it is for me.

Great atmosphere and design. Gives you relax mood. Friendly staff. Expected more fresh and moist chocolate banana muffins and a bit less bitter cappuccino.

Great coffee option for socializing, meetings or reading/getting work done. I like that the banquette tables are designated no laptop/tablet zones, so that one person with a laptop doesn't occupy a prime table for 2 for hours on end. Rather there are single seats in other areas that are designated for people doing work. There is free WiFi with a 2 hour maximum which seems fair.

Coffee drinks are consistently good. Is it the best coffee in the city? No. But it is pretty good. They have croissants, yogurt and 3 kinds of breakfast sandwiches (the Italian sausage/cheese/egg one is pretty tasty!). In the summer, there is a cute patio facing temperance street.

Definitely better than any of the big chains. Nice, bright decor and pretty floors. This is a good option if you are in the Financial district.

If it's full, you can also get coffee across the street at Sud Forno.

This is my daily go-to. Very friendly staff, great coffee and yummy baked goods! Also has a cozy vibe and great seasonal drinks! They also have a workspace at the back! Definitely a space I could squat for a while

I visited in November 2025 for business purposes and was impressed by the overall professionalism and efficiency. The staff were courteous, attentive, and clearly well-trained. The environment was calm and organised, which made the experience smooth from start to finish. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and I appreciated the attention to detail in both service and presentation.

There is minor room for improvement in communication response times, but otherwise, it was an excellent experience that I would be happy to recommend to colleagues and associates.

Book ahead and allow a little extra time if you’re on a tight schedule — peak hours can be busy.

great building and coffee. free wifi, good spots for working, outlets, and standard two hour time limit. Iced americano was nice and strong. the other drinks and pastries also look really good so i’ll try them next time. staff is polite and quick. the best part is the atmosphere and interior design for sure.

I was looking for a nice cafe to grab some caffeine and a snack while I was touring Toronto and found this place. I needed a power outlet to charge my phone which this place thankfully had. The interior was very cool aesthetically and the location is nice - around Yonge Street. My latte was delicious and although they did forget to give me my carrot cake at first, the barista who looked like a young Val Kilmer was very apologetic about it. The rest of the staff were very work focused and kind and one even complimented my camera when he came to pick up my empty plate. Overall would definitely come back if I’m in the area.

Cute coffee shop for a quick catch up with a friend!!

I ordered their matcha latter that was excellent—smooth, well-balanced, and consistently well-prepared. They also offer a rotating selection of beans for those who enjoy trying something new. Pastries and baked goods are fresh, with the croissants and scones being particular standouts.

They are one of Toronto’s popular coffee shops and I would prefer going post lunch as it’s a perfect 5 mins walk from my office!

Housed in a gorgeous historical building, this café’s design has stood the test of time and still feels as inviting as ever. It’s the perfect setting for coffee meetings - whether for business or pleasure. The outdoor patio, framed by a beautiful wrought iron fence, adds to its charm and makes it an ideal spot to linger. The coffee is consistently excellent - never burnt, never sour. I haven’t tried their pastries yet, but they always look tempting in the display case.

Tasty pastries and great coffee! There’s a decent amount of seating inside and plenty outside. Loved the old building — it’s got a cool vibe. Big thanks to the Rivetstays staff for the recommendation. I’d totally come back!

I went with family to dineen for a coffee with my family. Tall brown/red haired barista ran out, yelled at a customer for attempting to open the outside umbrella, then went back in slamming the glass door. Hat to leave because my family felt uncomfortable.

This is one of the most iconic coffee shops in downtown, right in the financial district. It's always super busy during the work day

Lots of seating, both indoors and outdoors. Service is very efficient. We came here around 8 on a Friday morning and it was pretty quiet, surprisingly.

They have a large variety of food and pastries for commuters

A great spot for coffee break while strolling the Downtown core, love my large cappuccino and croissant. Good coffee, good location, great ambience.

I was very impressed with the cappuccino at this busy and bustling coffee spot. It was very convenient to our hotel and service was quick and friendly.

Smashing IT!

Great drop in for a quick or take a relaxing seat in the heart of the financial district just steps away from the office and madness of it all.

This is where chaos stays outside and calmness takes centre stage.

A great meeting spot for a some friendly banter. Great food. Great sweets. Great coffee and amazing LONDON FOG!

The customer service is also phenomenal. Whatever you order from Dineen Coffee know that it will be spectacular.

Also take a moment to take in all of the charm of the modern and old world that the CIBC building has to offer.

A great place to grab breakfast before work or a day in downtown! I got the Nutella banana croissant and a hot chocolate. My friends got the pistachio croissant and the classic chocolate croissant, along with a chai vanilla latte. 10/10 experience and food.

One of the best place to have coffee especially if you are meeting someone in Financial district. It could get crowded during peak hours. Sometimes, I just to there for the vibes and enjoy latte

Great landmark coffee shop in the financial district. Had the cortado it was smooth and delicious. Lactose free option. Also had the wild blueberry muffin and it was delicious too. Soft and not sweet. Definitely come here for a treat.

It was a so so flat white. Too hot to drink right away. Low on foam. No china available. Had to drink from a paper cup. Flies in the room. Not kidding They only got around to opening up 5 minutes late as well. Reading other reviews of late - the staff don’t care if you go there. You should stay away.

Finance bros spotted. Also, they need more vegetarian options. I tried to order an egg sandwich but they were out and only had tuna left. I had to get a refund because the cashier didn’t know it was sold out until after I had already paid.
The oat flat white was good.

A rude and immature staff worker treated us like we were bothering him. He was judgmental and rolled his eyes when I asked for hot water with my order, as I could not have any caffeine. He then charged me for said hot water and never provided a receipt. When I realized what happened, I approached him, and he told me he doesn't want to help me.

I emailed customer service/presumably owner of the cafe. I took the time to write a detailed and professional recount of my experience. No response for several weeks. I followed up again and they responded with a curt, "It will not happen again."

What a joke. Get it together Dineen.
