Generous portions (the leftovers were just as delicious the next day), flavourful Caribbean food, and a great selection of rice and salads. Everything tasted fresh and made to order — especially the shrimp dish, which featured real, juicy shrimp instead of the tiny overcooked kind you often get elsewhere.

Visiting my hometown of Toronto… I only have specific places I go to for specific things like Patties… I wanted to be adventurous and see if there was something worth trying.

I grew up on Patty combos, and today I thought why not, let’s see what Toronto has to offer…

I love Jamaican food and believe me Scotty is one of my favourite. This Jamaican restaurant is a total gem. From the moment you walk in, the smell of spices hits you in the best way, and the vibe feels welcoming and laid-back. The jerk chicken is the star of the show—perfectly smoky, tender, and packed with bold flavor without being overpowering. The curry goat is rich and comforting, and the rice and peas are cooked just right. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and you can tell the food is made with care and authenticity. On top of that, the staff are friendly and make you feel right at home. If you’re craving real Jamaican food that tastes like it was made from the heart, this spot is 100% worth a visit.

Yummy flavourful food. Got the jerk chicken bowl with rice and peas and tomatoes and veggies. Recommend giving these guys a try. There's a bit of a kick but tolerable!

"Feed the Soul" indeed!!!
Our 1st time enjoying something other than their fresh baked beef patties and a can of pop lol
Today we celebrated someones special day with their choice for lunch and Scotty Bons is where we went.
We essentially brought home a buffet that lasted 2 days; a generous serving of succulent Oxtail (which I surprisingly enjoyed...NEVER have I EVER lol tasted oxtail 👀 before. This enormous Oxtail BOWL was served up HOT 🔥 with my side choices of Saffron rice, curried veggies, coleslaw and tomato salad.
Next order up was for the Chicken Curry ROTI; a massive light and fluffy roti that served as a "pool liner" that was filled with laddles of warmed curried chicken thighs. The ROTI also comes with your choice of add ins (same as BOWL orders) but I had my add INs added on as SIDEs...so my other choice was the traditional Peas n Rice 🫘🍚 ("OhhhhMyyyBuddhhha Rice", which I've affectionaly renamed it!!!), plantin and the perfcect coleslaw.
Now, what makes this the PERFECT coleslaw for me is how finely sliced the often hard chunks AND knobs of cabbage are, the perfect and friendly battle of Vinegar vs. Creamy and the balance between the two.
I've had some of the best island foods from Here, There and Everywhere 🌏 and Im lucky Im only a stone throw away from these island vibes.
I might have Eglinton to the north, Weston to my west, Oakwood is to the East, yo but if younknow you know..#IYKYK...Rogers Road beats the rest cos WE EATS THE BEST!!!

Scotty Bons is possibly the best takeout around the neighborhood. The food is seriously flavourful, and the portions are big for what you pay. Everything tastes fresh and well-seasoned. It’s become one of my go-to spots when I want something quick but still satisfying.

I knew it’ll be good, and it was. The only downside: there be no strange spices that make your pallet wild out. So, shawarma on average is tastier.

HOWEVER, sometimes you need a meal like this to clean your soul. It’s like home cooking.

Best oxtail in the city! My first time ordering from here but not the last. Full of flavour, delicious rice & peas, gravy and perfect ripe fried plantain. This is my new go to for Jamaican. Good portion size and perfect hot sauce. Highly recommend! Must try!

Went to have lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Food was flavourful and the portions were extremely generous. The customer service was great - they even let me sample one of the meats before deciding on my order.
I ordered the curry chicken bowl — the chicken was perfectly seasoned. The coleslaw was a nice refreshing touch to the bowl. The corn and pineapple salsa was also a nice sweet touch.
Overall 5/5 will definitely be back!

Nice store layout. Very welcoming and nice ambience. I ordered the shrimp bowl and it’s delicious. Generous portions. Fresh ingredients make their dishes really tasty. In addition to this, the staff working there on the evening of 09/30/2024 were friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice and pleasant experience with this location. I would go back again.

I had the most delightful experience at Scotty Bons tonight! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was chef's kiss 🥰. The staff welcomed me warmly, making me feel right at home. It's rare to find such genuine hospitality, and I can confidently say I'll be returning just for that.

Now, let's talk about the food. The barbecue chicken bowl is an absolute masterpiece🤯🤯. It's almost too beautiful to eat, but once you take that first bite, it's hard to stop! The chicken is tender, perfectly seasoned, and the flavors are fresh and satisfying. One bowl is more than enough to leave you feeling full and happy.

What's even better is that Scotty Bons is conveniently close to where I live. I can see myself coming back here regularly, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. Plus, the interior of the store is super clean and aesthetically pleasing, perfect for snapping some TikTok videos or pictures. It's an all-around fantastic experience, and I can't thank the team enough for making my day. Highly recommend!
